Higher Ground Cafe - Capitol Hill — Restaurant in Calgary

very disappointing visit today i ordered a hot bannana drink which was good but sisters experience was terrible first we ordered a everything breakfast bagel when it came it had like undercooked bacon and no egg like the egg is the main part of the breakfast bagel we return it and tell them abouy the issue they go back and say they will add egg. We also told them plz add garlic aioli as there was none added the girl at front says she knows ( how would she know ) shell add it. Next comes up the hot chocolate my sister order comes cold we tell them they say well fix it and we see the girl just putting choclate milk in a cup and warming it up .. if i wanted that i couldve done it at home. I've always enjoyed this coffee shop and found it a nice atmosphere and hangout. With seating limited just now and more people studying it's become understandably very hard to get a table. I had a humiliating experience recently when there was nowhere to sit except the table for 4. The male server told me, loud and clear for everyone to hear, that if I sit there he'll "have to kick me out" if a larger party arrives. I've been there several times since then and it's been the same server and on each visit I noticed 2 people sat at the table for 4 and he didn't tell them they'd be kicked out if a larger party arrived. I notice on all the visits one of the female servers was occupying one of the open tables so it doesn't appear customer seating is a concern. Had an unpleasant experience at Higher Ground tonight. The drinks that all 5 of us were received were at least half foam. We had to scoop a lot of it out & we were left with half drinks. It seemed that there was only one person working, not sure she knew how to make all the drinks.

It was also uncomfortable as there was cold air shooting out of the vents by our table. It’s +2 outside with a wind storm.

The thing that was the most upsetting was the fact I had nowhere to change my baby. The washrooms are not equipped with change tables. The only place I would have been able to change my baby was on top of a table & I’m sure the other customers would not have appreciated that.
