Overall my experience here was positive, though with some flaws. I would still return though. Given it is post-pandemic, I am being more lenient and would have otherwise given a 4/5 rating. First, the blonde woman (don't know her name, sorry!) working the front of house is absolutely fabulous. She is so full of energy and just brightens up the whole experience and restaurant. In terms of food, everything tasted fresh, the meats were cooked to the right doneness, and price for quality is very good, especially if you're going for any of their daily or evening specials. In particular, the 30% off all yakitori (skewers) after 8pm is fantastic! The aka ramen had a nice level of spice and the broth was very rich. They must have brought on many new and unfortunately inexperienced wait staff however, because I asked for my ramen noodles to be cooked extra firm, however the waitress bringing it got mixed up and thought it was less noodles. She took it back, realized it was correct, and by the time she brought it again the noodles were mushy. They also forgot one of the items we ordered, which we didn't realize until the bill came. At which point we waited well over 20 minutes and had to check with the staff twice for it to eventually come. The manager was nice enough to give us some Pocky to apologize, but the extra wait time still left a...
Read moreOur first experience with IKUSA was through Skip the Dishes. We had order a little bit of everything off the Chef's recommended. It was so disappointing when the food arrived with the wrong order! We ordered again a few weeks and it was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection. The pork buns is a must! We were so happy with the food that we decided to order for pick up on NYE. After placing our order, it said it would be ready at 6:30pm. I arrived there at 6:20pm to a crowd of people picking up (NYE rush). After waiting for 10 mins, i was able to put my name on the list to let them know i was there to pick up my order. After another 10 mins, a couple of the workers walked around asking for everyone's name/order #. Again, i gave it to them. I stood there waiting for 50 mins before i received my order. I watched as people with pick up times for 6:30pm leave around 6:45pm. I watched as people with pick up times for 6:45pm leave with their order at 7pm. By the time got home with our hot items were cold. I was disappointed with our last experience. I understand that they had a huge rush for NYE, but i would've appreciated if i was told i'd be waiting for more than half an hour. I think a new system needs to be implemented. That's the only reason why i took 1 star away. The food is amazing but the service recently left me...
Read morePleasant experience! When you walk in, you get the most enthusiastic chorus “IRASHAI” of your life. Then, they give you 4 menu boards clearly separating meats from sushi from ramen bowls.
The ordering process is efficient and they confirm every single item on your order sheet before taking off - an extra step so as to minimize mistakes in ordering.
The food started coming and the sushi was so fun to eat! Not too big, not to small. Perfect bite size for sushi! The ramen bowl was a good portion for my body size but still too much for me. Kitchen did an amazing job! The food was so good, I forgot my name. Especially the truffle sushi
The servers consistently come by to refill drinks and periodically ask how our experience is. On top of that, they are pleasant small talkers. Not too personal, not too generic.
Jackie the host, very sensitive to how he is on his surroundings. Visited here 3 times already and the guy has been consistent with how he interacts with people.
I can’t name all the servers I only remember Solana but I don’t understand what water they drink or what air they breathe at the restaurant. They are all..... nice and patient???????????
Finished the experience with complementary soft serve. Wth what restaurant gives free dessert!
Thank you everyone for such an...
