Addendum: on Feb 13, we ordered Incha for pickup through the Fantuan app. Since we didn’t see a hot version for the brown sugar milk tea, we called ahead and confirmed it does come in hot. So we went ahead with the order and requested a hot version of the brown sugar milk tea; as it was our first time using Fantuan, we were unaware that would cause an issue. While driving to Incha, I get two missed calls from Incha, so I call back; apparently they cannot deviate from the app order at all and make it hot. She said I can cancel and reorder, so I hang up and try to do as she suggested. There was no option to cancel so I call back, and she said the drink is made already so I can’t do anything. Honestly, that’s fine. It’s an app miscommunication, and we were almost at the store, so I didn’t argue. HOWEVER, once we got to the store, I saw that our drinks were ready, but the woman working there was busy on the phone with someone (owner, friend?) complaining in Mandarin about an “unreasonable costumer” who “kept on calling back to complain about Fantuan”, which was not only untrue as she had called me, but also completely oblivious to the fact that I can understand her. Almost in disbelief, my boyfriend and I waited for quite some time before she finally finished ranting and served us our drinks. I would have not said anything otherwise- as I said there can be miscommunications between apps and stores and I understand that, but the fact she so falsely accused me in another language assuming I couldn’t understand while refusing to serve us our already made drinks left me baffled.
Original: 5/5 Amazing customer service and delicious bubble teas (albeit quite sweet). We had the matcha smoothie with pearls and the wintermelon bubble tea- we were warned that the wintermelon is very sweet and even at 50% sugar, it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The matcha smoothie was perfect, great consistency.
The customer service though was top notch! First of all, he was extremely patient while we mulled over our choices and gave recommendations. After we drove away, we realized there was no pearls in our matcha. I called InCha and they promptly apologized and said a new one will be made for pick up. Amazing! We will...
Read moreMy fiance and I were super stoked to find out that there is a bubble tea place in the SW; the fact that it's high quality is even more exciting!
My fiance went for their milk tea with pearls, while I went for the grapefruit slush. Neither of them needed sugar adjustments (we usually ask for 0-25% sugar) and had great flavour.
The milk tea had a great balance between the tea and milk flavour without unwanted bitterness. The only thing we wish the drink had was a little more ice (we ordered the cold drink, but it came out Luke warm with most of the ice melting really quickly).
The grapefruit slush tasted great! It didn't taste artificial at all, and was very refreshing. The ice in the slush was a little course; I'm hoping they'd be willing to blend it a little longer for our next visit.
All in all, this place is awesome. The quality is top notch! The only reason they aren't 5 stars is because of the price to size ratio. With drinks costing the same price, or maybe even just a little more than other spots, the drink sizes are...
Read moreStopped by to check out this new bubble tea joint located in the same plaza as Wow Bakery, right next to Chinook mall. They currently have 12% off all drinks and have been open for about a week or so. I tried the Brown Sugar Bubble Milk featuring the ever so trendy brown sugar pearls in milk. The pearls were done quite well! I would like to see the option of having the brown sugar pearls in a milk tea base - not sure if they have something like that on the menu but I didn't notice. My boyfriend got the Season Oolong with Lemon - so refreshing and didn't have any artificial syrup taste at all! I would come back to try more fruit teas and I hope they introduce more variety in fruit tea on the menu. Its nice to see some solid bubble tea places open in South Calgary as I don't always feel like making the trip downtown. This would be a good stop before/after some mall crawling or checking out a movie at Chinook. The interior is bright and clean with a few tables (maybe around 12-15...
