As I stepped into Double Zero, I was immediately struck by the inviting ambiance and the promise of a memorable dining experience. Settling in for brunch, our culinary journey began with an array of tantalizing starters that showcased the restaurant's commitment to quality and creativity.
The Calamari in Caprese was a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The tender calamari, perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned, paired harmoniously with the fresh tomatoes, fragrant parsley, and the tangy kick of the tomato-garlic dip. It was a refreshing twist on a classic dish that left me craving more.
Next up, the Cauliflower dish was a revelation. Roasted to perfection, the cauliflower was imbued with the warm spices of cumin and the sweetness of raisins, while the nuttiness of pecorino added depth to each bite. The addition of chickpeas and spinach provided a satisfying heartiness, making this dish a standout in both flavor and presentation.
The Zucchini Panzanella was a true celebration of seasonal ingredients. Marinated zucchini, crisp and vibrant, mingled with creamy goat cheese and the subtle crunch of fennel. The addition of apple lent a hint of sweetness, while the white balsamic dressing tied everything together with its bright and tangy notes. It was a refreshing and light option that perfectly complemented the other dishes.
Moving on to the Meatballs, it was evident that these were crafted with care and attention to detail. Made from a blend of beef and pork, they were juicy and packed with flavor, while the accompanying red sauce added a rich and savory element that elevated the dish to new heights.
And finally, the piece de resistance: the Ten Layer Lasagna. As each layer was unveiled, it became clear that this was no ordinary lasagna. The robust flavors of Bolognese and tomato sauce were perfectly balanced by the creamy richness of béchamel, while a medley of cheeses, including mozzarella, parmesan, asiago, and fior de latte, added depth and complexity to every forkful. Each layer was a symphony of flavors, and together they created a dish that was indulgent, comforting, and utterly irresistible.
In summary, Double Zero's brunch offerings are a testament to the restaurant's culinary prowess and dedication to excellence. From the innovative starters to the decadent main courses, every dish was crafted with care and creativity, resulting in a dining experience that was nothing short of extraordinary. I left Double Zero feeling thoroughly satisfied and already looking forward to...
Read moreDouble Zero Pizza was misfire for me.
When I decide on eating at an Italian/ Pizza restaurant for the first time, I stick to the basics, dishes that I like that are simple and may be found in most Italian / Pizza restaurants.
I started with the Calamari appetizer. It turned out to be a poor choice as the dish was very mediocre at best. The sauce that came with it was sub-par as well.
I still had hopes for the pizza dish since Double Zero advertises itself as a Pizza restaurant. I chose the most basic Pizza you can order, a Margherita pizza. The twist with this Margherita is that it is made with the restaurant’s very own ‘Fior di Latte’, aka ‘fresh mozzarella’. This turned out to be a BAD choice. I could not finish the pizza since it was that bad. Several hours after eating the pizza, I still had an unpleasant after-taste from the cheese.
By now, I was quite annoyed with my decision to eat here. But, as with every Italian restaurant that I decide to eat in, I had to try the Tiramisu dessert.
Based on my experience so far, I was expecting something terrible. Thankfully, the Tiramisu was GOOD, the only redeeming dish of the evening.
The service was good, nothing out of the ordinary.
I found the price to be high, especially for the quality of food that I’ve received.
In summary, I do not recommend Double Zero as a restaurant. But, if you absolutely feel the need for a drink and a Tiramisu after a long day of shopping at the mall, then Double Zero might be worth a quick visit.
What can I say, Google reviews have fooled me...
Read moreMy friends and I have been to this location many times before and have enjoyed our meals. Although, after our last experience, we will likely not be returning.
When we arrived, we were not seated right away. Instead, we watched as our server chit chatted while taking glances at us while we waited. After a couple minutes, she came over and seated us but did not introduce herself to us at all. Due to this, I cannot provide a name for this experience.
The food was great as always! Service was not. Our waters were not filled once the glasses were empty and when we requested water it did take slightly longer (there were only a few other people seated at the time - the least busy I’ve seen it). Additionally, our orders were mixed up (not a big deal, we swapped things around once she left). At the end of our meal is when things became uncomfortable. One of my friends who only ordered a small appetizer did not leave a tip and our server questioned her out loud. She asked what was wrong with the service and why she did not leave a tip. I was on the other side of the table and I was able to hear this loud and clear. She even went as far as individually thanking each person who tipped while looking at my friend. This made all of us uncomfortable and upset. We have never experienced a server reading receipts and questioning people on their choice of tipping. We still have not be able to forget this uncomfortable and unnecessarily...
