Convinced my wife to do a gender reveal party for our second child we are expecting and we had explored different options of how to do it. I then came across the Jelly Modern Website one day and notice they do gender reveal donuts - We love jelly Modern so this was perfect! So i went to get 25 baby gender reveal donuts for a party we were going to host. I took the envelope to in on the Wednesday morning before the weekend and explained to the employee that was up front, what was in the envelope and how we wanted to order these. She looked a bit confused, I then asked her not to tell me whats in the envelope cause it was a surprise. So she proceeded to open and looked in the envelope, she then grabbed the order form started to fill it out and at first she said I could order a cake? (sorry, I didn't come to Jelly Modern for a Cake, we wanted DONUTS) Then I told her we wanted 25 donuts white tops like on the website (showed the picture from the site). 24 of them with white filling and 1 with Mystery color of "what ever color Blue for boy or Pink for girl was written in the envelope" she looked a bit confused again... So I repeated what I wanted again and when she repeated my order back to me she said "24 Donuts with white filling and 1 with PINK filling?" wow, i couldn't believe what she had said at the time didn't want to believe that she actually RUINED the surprise for me at that moment... I then asked if i could speak to a manager, another girl came out from the back, I explained once again what i wanted and was super helpful... I didn't call her employee out right then and there, cause i was still in a bit of shock and just wanted to leave cause I had to go to work. Thought to myself she might have just said a random color... After that I called my wife, talked to her told her what happened, she wrote them on FB but all she got was a "Sorry about that hope it's still surprise for you guys". The weekend came picked up the donuts we ordered, the same girl was at the front grabbing my order from the back, we bought a few extra donuts that morning for my family members who wanted Gluten Free donuts, the employee at the checkout said I throw these two Donuts in for you cause I am sorry for what happened the other day (Obviously the FB message was relayed on to them) ... I then thought, she did ruin it for me this is freaking awesome... and only got a sorry and two free donuts?!! Your company is at the high end of their industry and only got two free donuts? I thought for sure i should've gotten a refund or something bigger in return.... Should've raised hell right then, but me being me and had worked in the service/retail industry in the past, hated dealing with customers like that me, i didnt want to cause a scene. So I let it boil for a few week and now here we are...
Time came to do the reveal later in the day and turns out she did ruin it for me. We are super happy and excited to be having a baby girl but overall was not surprised and just disappointing cause of what happened with the order...
Safe to say, if you ever need a special occasion donut, make sure you talk to someone there who can understand what you are ordering. We love jelly modern and we always give them good business when we stop by the Farmers Market on Blackfoot, but I will not be going back to place an order like...
Read moreWaiting for a year for the perfect opportunity to take the family to Jelly Modern Donuts. This long weekend, the time was right, so we packed up the family for the experience "everyone is talking about". Ordered 6 donuts, to have a wide variety to sample.... The service was horrible. No smile, no conversation, showed no interest in our family with 3 young children. The donuts were different flavours than usual, but they weren't any tastier. They were mostly bland and tasteless (except the flavour of the month, which had some nice mango jelly, about 5g worth). just under $14 for 6 donut, 1/2 were the "small size" ones. Poor service, poor pricing, mediocre donuts. Overall awful experience. Not recommended. Don't buy the hype, it's all marketing. Great online marketing by the way... but the donut experience was terrible. The only reason I would consider going again, would be to see if it was an "off day" or some other horrible anomaly. Side note, they have 2 nice wooden chairs that were...
Read moreI would give zero if I could. I ordered a month in advance a dozen donuts and when I arrive to pick them up they said they couldn't do my order (dairy free) but they did one flavour dairy free. So they said they couldn't do it. But they did. They're just idiots. They also said they can't do dairy free but can do vegan. Like really? This is the place that everyone raves about? I've actually never had a worse experience at an eatery in my life. All made worse by them not apologizing once or accepting blame. Amazing donuts but seriously I would burn this place down before going back there and dealing with them. Whoever owns this establishment seriously needs to look at who's representing their company on the front lines. If I could contact the owner directly and talk to her I would. She would be appalled I hope... i want to keep going cuz I'm that annoyed but I suppose I have to stop...
