Unfortunately, my experience here didn't live up to the reviews I read in the slightest. I definitely caught them on a bad day because the people working there (I'm assuming mother and daughter) were very loudly and publicly arguing with each other for a good 5-10 mins which was awkward to witness.
The place had maybe two or three other tables when I came and the food arrived quite slow, especially compared to other Vietnamese joints I've been to. I tried their skewer combo which had decent shrimp, rubbery satay beef and good satay chicken. The sauces provided complimented the dish well so I ordered a satay chicken sub to go.
After an extremely long wait, I got my sub and was shocked to see it was half the size of your usual bánh mì while being double the price. To make matters worse, it was also the saddest bánh mì I've ever had: the chicken was overcooked and hard to chew + the sub was so dry and tiny that $12 felt like I'd been majorly ripped off.
Overall, the food was sadly a letdown and at its premium price point, I don't see a reason why...
Read moreWe visited Tre Vietnamese Kitchen just before sundown, and the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. The soft lighting paired perfectly with the sunset, creating a warm and relaxing vibe.
One of the best parts — their entire menu is 100% gluten-free, which makes this an incredible spot for anyone who is celiac or gluten-sensitive. It’s also easy to find, located just off 14th Avenue near 16th, with clear signage advertising their gluten-free focus.
The service was outstanding — our server was friendly, polite, and made us feel very welcome. The menu is simple and easy to follow, and everything is very reasonably priced, so you’ll definitely leave full without breaking the bank.
We also tried a dessert: a tapioca and coffee-flavored flan, which was absolutely delicious. The dessert menu itself is well thought out and complements the meal perfectly.
Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. We’ll definitely be coming back — Tre Vietnamese Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone looking for great gluten-free...
Read moreBased on the high rating, I was expecting more than what I actually experienced. The place itself is rather unappealing and could really use a refresh. However, I did enjoy the food. The Pho Bo was excellent. For my main dish, I had the Meat Skewers, and I was surprised to see that it contained three different kinds of meat – beef, chicken, and shrimp. Personally, I’ve never encountered such a combination, especially considering allergies. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t a highlight for me either.
What disappointed me, though, was the waiting time. When I arrived, it was quite busy, so I asked how long the wait would be. I was told 20 minutes. In the end, I waited an hour (nearly), and people who came after me got their food sooner because they stayed to dine in, while I ordered takeaway. The staff was friendly and even gave me water, but considering the long wait, some form of compensation would have been...
