SATURDAY, JUNE 18 2022 was Neighbour Day and it was my first time visiting the Genises Center. I asked a lady working at jugo juice to recommend a good smoothie. The one that had kale in it which was one of the priciest was suggested. I paid and patiently awaited being serverd as other people were before me. I was briefly distracted with the activities below at the centre stage but each time I looked at the counter the staff were still busy. After realizing that there was a smoothie sitting on the counter, I tried to ask the middle aged female who made it, if it was mine. She ignored me to aggressively and quite loudly holler at a guy (of an obviously very different race to me), in order to get his attention to collect HIS smoothie. I finally decided through a process of elimination that the lone unattended smoothie is probably mine. This is not the first time I experienced this behavior in saddle town. It is the reason i have not been back to the Tim Hortns here in about 4 yrs. I was so thirsty and hungry at the time, that I took a few big swigs before realizing how awful the thing tasted. From making my own home smoothies I know that the ingredients should balance out a bit enough to not be too tangy, sweet or acidic etc. I wonder if that terrible thing in my cup was a direct message to me, letting me know that people who look like me are just not welcomed. I can't imagine that jugo's more priciest smoothie has that taste always. In any case I will never go back to another jugo juice. Ever. I drank a few other sips before coming to the conclusion that being thirsty is no excuse to torture myself, so I ditched the cup (costing me the greater part of my post pandemic $10) Hey, my advice to all stores in Calgary is please post a sign saying who your preferred demography is, that way others don't waste our hard earned money in your stores and you don't feel whatever it is you feel by having to disturb yourself to assist us. Honestly is always appreciated . I have done a job feeling overwhelmed overworked and definitely underpaid...when the poor conditions starts negatively affecting your work quality ...It Is time to go. Best advice, I...
Read moreRUDE EMPLOYEES! I was just here recently not even 20 minutes ago as I wanted to redeem my birthday offer for a smoothie as it is my birthday and the ladies working (middle aged South Asian lady along with another South Asian girl probably mid-late twenty's) and they went and said rude things to each other for getting a "free drink". To be exact they were speaking Punjabi and I do understand and speak the language and they said that "all kids do is come in here for free stuff". If I have an offer FOR MY BIRTHDAY I am going to come in and redeem it, it is my birthday after all. They were acting as if it was coming out of their pay check which I know for a fact they are getting paid minimum wage. I would like to contact a manager regarding this because I feel unwelcome. I did end up getting my drink so I am not upset about that, just upset about the way...
Read moreToday I ordered a Kale Aid and they handed me a brown apple juice substance. I then told them I think they forgot the kale. The lady at the counter told me I was wrong. Then I told her it's not even the same color. Kale aid is supposed to be green like in the picture. She then told me it's not green because they put the Kale in first. Despite this lie, I was polite and decided to just leave.
I paid $10.25 for a cup of apple juice not a Kale Aid. This is the second time this has happened to me at this location. I will not spend my money here anymore.
My drink only had apples, no ginger or any other ingredients that go in the Kale Aid.
This place used to be awesome when it was run by the Korean guy. That guy gave awesome product with awesome...
