When they opened I used to enjoy their veg thali, garlic naan and various other stuff. But now their quality is deteriorating day-by-day. Dal tastes all haldi, can’t even take it in. When called back, answer I got was “aage se dhyan rakhenge”. Wow??? First of all I paid for everything, why should I pay for something which I have to garbage. No courtesy to offer to even return back and get another one.
Smaller size of thali and higher price than before. 0.25 cent extra without asking or informing for PLASTIC bag, not even tissue or paper bag. No customer service skills specially the owner lady and her son. It always feels like how they can charge extra money from the customer and give them minimal food in return. THIS IS NOT BUSINESS, if you think this is.
I saw how an old man came in and ask the owner son for sweet price, instead of responding he started packing and directly asked for money. Who knows, if he charged correctly or not. Who knows, if that old man wanted to buy or not after knowing the price. Another old man came in and asked for receipt after paying, he said “deta hun ruk” and asked me what I wanted. Excuse me???? Why you didn’t gave him the receipt, according to my understanding you must have charged inappropriately that’s why you didn’t offer him his receipt, which was his right. Don’t take that as their weakness. Kisi din koi aesi jhaad lagayega na, yaad rahegi hamesha.
Never going to this...
Read moreClose friend of mine recently bought a house. From my understanding, this warranted some sweets as a good gesture.
Being from a different cultural background, I had no idea what kind of sweets to choose. The staff at the time was very unhelpful and frankly, rude. Pretty obvious I needed a little extra assistance considering the nature of my situation. To make it easy for the staff, I requested an assortment of sweets with no preference. Middle aged lady made it sound like it was an outrageous ask...tried explaining my request, ended up having me randomly point at sweets (I just chose the colourful ones haha). I was nothing but kind, even upon leaving I was the one who said have a good day...this review is a testament to my "buyers remorse". After observing how she treated the customers before me, I can't help but feel slightly targeted. Perhaps they just don't serve my kind. The Lady tossed my box of sweets onto the table like a wet paper towel.
To note, I have eaten here in the past and the food is honestly good. Just a pity that my wallet cannot support those who belittle their customers in such a manner. However, made my friend and their family laugh when explaining my Wonderful experience. (Worthwhile...
Read moreI cannot go in detail about this place yet because I only met my husband in there after running an errand. He ordered a butter chicken and we took home some sweets. Their pastry case is full and clearly fresh made same day, no leftovers. He would give this place a different rating as he got sick later that night... But I had no problems with what I tried. Could not keep my hands off the buttery Naan. Chutney is perfect consistency and just minty enough. Like most places I thought there's not enough meat in the butter chicken dish compared to sauce, but it is good enough on its own honestly. Lol. Later he got some fish pakora. And it is the best, crispiest fish pakora in this part of Calgary hands down. You get a lot for one serving. As far as service, they start a tab for you and check on you to see how everything is through the course of your meal. The front end staff is always doing something, and comes out promptly to clean the tables even when busy. Good job Punjabi Sweets and keep it up - my husband may not...
