If you are craving some amazing comfort food, this is a great place to fill that void. Came here based on a suggestion from a friend and glad we did. It's hard to find good Filipino food in South Calgary.

The establishment is small, but bright and tastefully decorated. The menu selection isn't huge but there's enough on there to satisfy, a great selection of pork, chicken, fish, noodle and beef dishes. We had the Sisig, chicken adobo, and the Binagoongan, along with garlic rice. Everything was wonderfully flavourful, and presented well. I think the only dish that could have been better was the Sisig, as it isn't served on a heated platter as typical of other establishments, and that made the dish congeal a little quicker, and it also didn't have a cracked egg on top. The adobo was excellent, the flavour was well balanced, and the vinegar flavour was not overpowering. The best dish was the Binagoongan, it was the first time I've tried this dish and it was very nice, a perfect pairing with garlic rice.

Hopefully the menu will grow a bit more as there were not many vegetable dishes, and some of the other offerings like Turon were not on the menu, but available to order.

Portion sizes were good, with dishes enough to do family style dining and pricing is fair, offering good value for this quality of food.

Service was very friendly, parking is plentiful and the facilities are well kept. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes. Do yourself a favour and give this place a chance, you...

Kamalig, formerly known as Kutsara't Tinidor, is a delightful Filipino restaurant nestled in the charming southern area of Calgary. With its recent rebranding, Kamalig offers an inviting atmosphere and a tantalizing menu that celebrates the rich flavors of Filipino cuisine. Although, I'm not sure if it's under a new management/owner.

From classic favorites to modern twists, Kamalig serves up an array of dishes that will transport you to the streets of Manila. Whether you're craving traditional adobo, mouthwatering lechon kawali, or the beloved pancit chami, each dish is crafted with care and authenticity, delivering a burst of flavors that will leave you craving for more.

The friendly staff at Kamalig provide warm hospitality, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. The cozy ambiance adds to the overall charm, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal with family and friends.

In addition to its menu, Kamalig also offers short orders, allowing patrons to indulge in their favorite Filipino comfort foods on the go. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a full-fledged feast, Kamalig has you covered.

Overall, Kamalig is a gem in the culinary landscape of Calgary's south, offering a taste of the Philippines in every bite. With its delectable dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service, Kamalig is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the vibrant flavors of...

One of the most underrated Filipino restaurant in the south. Definitely a must try. Their "Crispy Sisig" is amazing. I always order it to go. If you eat in, I would suggest the "Sizzling Sisig" version as that comes in a hot plate with egg.

I live in Visayas region of the Philippines so I have never heard of "Chami" before, but boy oh boy was I missing out.

It's a classic for people from Lucena City. Basically it's Pancit that is tossed with meats and vegetable and topped with a savory sweet sauce. Just amazing.

The portions are pretty big for what you pay for so you will always be full. Top these ulam with rice and you are solid.

It is family owned so you know you will get the best service. Just ask for anything you need and they are very accommodating.

All in all, I would rate this 5/5 for the food...

This small and quaint Filipino restaurant is a hidden gem in Midnapore. We had the lomi, sizzling sisig, and Bicol express. All the items had strong flavours! The sisig was kinda missing something though, maybe it was missing texture (pig ears) and it wasn't spicy enough. Also could have used more vinegar? They do provide lemon slices with it, but it was still missing something. It may be a regional version that I'm not used to? The lomi and Bicol express tasted really good. The Bicol express may have had TOO much flavour though, it's hard to explain. I would still go back again. Portions are great for the price, and service was great and felt very homey. It is a small and run-down place, so atmosphere is a little lacking and interiors are really dark/dim.
