I've been to this location several times over the last couple years (primarily for convenience), and I can't think of one drive-thru experience here where there wasn't some sort of mix up with my order. I consider myself pretty patient, and for the most part I don't even care about a small mix up. But pulling up before ordering today - the thought automatically ran through my head, "I wonder what will go wrong with my order today at this location?" And sure enough... Honestly the last 5 times, and ONLY at the Midnapore location. I never have these problems at any other fast food locations / or even other Taco Time locations for that matter.
The problem seems to be some sort of communication breakdown from ordering at the speaker, to when you pull up at the window. It almost seems like ordering at the speaker is pointless because you have to completely start over at the window. After reading some other reviews - it turns out I am not alone. This is happening to others.
So today, when I didn't receive the drink I ordered, I waited at the window to get her attention, and she told me I never ordered the drink. I told her, I did order the drink at the speaker! I didn't know I had to have every last detail of my order again when I got to the window, and this is the 5th time in a row there has been a mistake with the order. She said it was the 1st time she has ever served me. Could be, but in over 2 years, can I believe that she knows every customer that comes through the drive-thru? I thought it was an odd response.
Anyway, I just wanted to check that they didn't charge me for it, and she said they didn't, and she did offer me a free drink, but it wasn't the point of me saying something today. And for the record, the previous time, I did order something and got charged. However, I didn't notice until I got home, and didn't want to go all the way back.
Again, I only said something in person today because there is an issue. And if they took some time to iron out the kinks of the communication breakdown (maybe fix faulty equipment??) Not sure what is going on exactly, but I think whatever it is - is FIXABLE if they were to look into it and try something different.
No one really cares that much about a pop that didn't get rung though... They care about wanting to go to an establishment, and not have the thought go through their head, "What will go wrong today?"
So why do I even keep going here? Like I say, convenience, and I really am holding out hope that they will figure out...
Read moreI have been coming to this location for several years now, and I have two frustrations that keep coming up over and over again. First, almost every time I order food at this location, there is some error in my order. I have been very forgiving with this, but legit, at least 75% of the time, my order is wrong. There have been times when I asked for large and complex orders ($70+) and there were errors, which is understandable. What is not understandable is when I ask for relatively simple orders such as: "Can I get two super beef burritos, one with no dairy, then make both of them into combos, both with large mexi-fries and large drinks, and also a beef quesidilla on the side (dairy is fine on this)". In this common order scenario, the person taking the order rarely repeats the order to me, and when they do, they almost always repeat it back to me wrong. When I correct them, then confirm the order again at the window, it astounds me that the order I receive is still almost always incorrect, with some missing items or other errors. Just this week, when I asked for no dairy in a burrito due to an allergy, I received a burrito that had no sour cream but had cheese. This is not acceptable, as someone in my family has a dairy allergy and got sick from this burrito. The second frustration that I want to point out is that there have been multiple times where I have ordered the same singular item, but the pricing has varied by a few dollars each time I came in a short timeframe. This, combined with the fact that itemized receipts are not automatically given out when receiving my order, has raised my eyebrow on occasion.
Overall, the food quality is good and the staff is friendly, so I will keep going to this location. That being said, I strongly recommend that management works on improving the service quality, starting with the active listening skills...
Read moreI won't ever be going back here. The staff are extremely rude. I showed up to grab my brother's order he ordered from Doordash. I walked up to the counter and the lady remained on her personal cell phone speaking to someone, after getting her attention, I showed her my order she turned around and continued on her phone..while preparing the food with her bare hands, it was at this point I got frustrated and repeatedly tried to get her attention by saying, "Excuse me". It took me saying wow cancel my order you're being rude and I don't want it. She then stated that she was on the phone about her grocery order (I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt by believing this was true).
I tried phoning the merchant and no answer, so I blocked my number and phoned back asking for the manager, she stated that she's the manager apologized and said that she was on the phone about missing fries and that it was her food she was preparing and that if I don't come back for my order her day was ruined. If she was in fact the manager, her behavior was unacceptable.
This was not the first time that we have had issues with this particular place. Another time we showed up to pick up a customer's order for Doordash and the store was closed when it clearly opens at 10 am Saturdays. The excuse that was given was an employee called in sick last minute. I am starting to think it was a lie because it was the same woman from today's incident.
In the end the the order was missing items and I was given a free fountain drink. So yes, this was my reason for a...
