Would have LOVED to have been able to actually try what they had to offer but after being ignored, we left. First impressions are everything. My hubby and I had been meaning to try this place once we saw it pop up and finally had sometime last week to stop in. When we entered there was a family with young kids blocking most of the bakery items, so we checked what was available in the freezer. At this point we've been inside for a few minutes and the only interaction from an employee was one politely asked us to move away from the freezer so he could bring food out to a table, ok, fine, a friendly greeting would have been more ideal, but it's not a big deal and it's not his fault he's running food. We take note of 2 things from the freezer we are going to purchase along with some fresh items. We see the family is wrapping things up, as we approach the fresh bakery items counter. We are about 3 feet from the counter & a woman and her elderly mother enter and block us from the counter, the woman is not wearing a mask, perhaps it was because of the tremendous amount of Botox in her face that exempts her? An employee asks "who's next", and Botox is obviously next right? They got served first, and we've been quite patient already. At this point I can visibily see 3 employees, the one who assisted Botox ignored us, the one on cash ignored us and the third who was handling food ignored us for about another 3 minutes while no one else was being served, so we walked out. I have worked in retail management for 20years, this is exactly how you do not...
Read moreDisappointed. Went there for a sit-down lunch on a weekend. Cute place but the staff were really disorganized. No one was cleaning the tables and no one was clearing the dirty dishes station (they had left an extra cart out so that you could keep piling on more dirty dishes) that took away from the ambiance. They have a number-sign system but for some reason weren't using it. Instead, they'd just put your food out and say your name. Except that you can't hear them, so your food just sits there getting cold. They also were yelling out the wrong names... so we probably waited a half hour or more before we all got our orders. They forgot half my order, I had to go back and ask them - by that point they had run out of the items I had already paid for. Offered something else in its place, but it wasn't very good. My friend's sandwich had been sitting there for a while (they had called out someone else's name) so when they realized it had been sitting there, they reheated it and called out the correct name. Unfortunately, that meant the bread had gotten hard. The sandwich wasn't worth the wait.. it didn't taste very good. Pastries were ok but not worth driving there with that...
Read moreDrive around Calgary and youâll find hidden gems. Driving aimlessly on a Sunday, I saw Les Moulins and decided to visit, and was I beyond ecstatic. The moment you walk in, you feel Paris. You inhale Paris. And you get Parisienne service. Josue welcomed me as I entered. I had no idea what to order but he explained their lunch, dessert and fresh made menu items. When I saw Almond Croissants, I was sold. Then I sold my self on their Smoked Salmon on pumpernickel bread, topped off with a cappuccino.
Here it goes: fresh, delicious, delectable and beyond tasty. Everything from the warm pressed smoke salmon to the almond filled and fresh made croissant to the piping hot cappuccino - was above any expectations I had. Which were minimal when I walked in. I sat on the couches in the rear corner for some alone time to enjoy.
Josueâs phenomenal service was impeccable. As part owner, you can tell he is passionate about his business, food palate and customers. Him and his family run a wonderful bakery. Since then, Iâve been back and will continue to visit.
You guys killed it and youâve earned a loyal client. Thank you....
