Tang Vietnamese Subs & Grill — Restaurant in Calgary

Was in the area and thought I would give this place a try and a lighter meal then fatburger. Saw the good reviews and assumed it would be a pleasing Viet sub for lunch. Man was I wrong, first off it was busy and that’s understandable. However the way the customers were handled I’m guessing the girls who work the till are inexperienced. I was In a line up of 7 people all crammed from the till to the door. There was 2 girls and only one till being used. It was only until I was at the front of the line that the other girl clued in to jump on the next till.

I ordered the mega sub with added carrots, cucumbers and cilantro like I would from any Viet restaurant. The price is reasonable, as well as the size. However I must say I was VERY disappointed with the sub. The chicken is clearly either a processed chicken product or very very low grade meat. This made the sub quite unpleasant. I ate 3/4s of the sub after picking out chicken where I could. After having the carrots fall out the sub it was just mush, the texture of the bread and the meat were the same.

First and foremost, the staff at Tang were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They greeted me with a warm smile and their service was efficient.

In addition to the excellent service, the cleanliness of the restaurant was impressive. The tables were spotless and the floors were sparkling clean. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a hygienic environment for their customers.

Now, let's talk about the bubble tea drinks - they were absolutely delicious and the boba was perfectly cooked and added a nice texture to the drinks.

Finally, the food was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. The subs were fresh and packed with flavor. The vegetables were crisp and the meat was cooked to perfection. The sate beef noodle soup was also a standout dish - the broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were cooked just right.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at Tang. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, refreshing bubble tea, and impeccable service and cleanliness. This place is a gem and I can't wait to...

Update: This place was great but I have to give them 1 star now after getting sick from their food. Went to tang on Jan 25th, 2024 got a sate beef sub, went home ate it. An hour later my stomach was hurting didn’t think anything of it, thought it was just the red peppers they put in the sub.
