My family and I have been going to the location 2-3 times a month, whenever we are out in SW Calgary. This location has been pretty good, but in the last couple months its gone completely downhill. Tonight I had dinner with 4 other family members spending about 90$ between the group. The hamburgers are a reasonable size and made pretty well. Where the low marks come from is how this location has been stingy on the portions of the sides and desserts. We ordered 3 orders of onion rings and they all had different amounts in them. The onion ring cartons were made between half and 2/3 full of rings this despite the fact that DQ charges extra to order onion rings instead of fries. Why not a full carton? I ordered a Peanut Buster Parfait tonight and got a dessert with ice cream that didn't reach the top lip of the cup never mind to the top of the lid like it should be. The curl at the top was about 1/3 of the diameter of the lip of the cup at the top. It had no Hot fudge sauce or peanuts on the top curl. DQ has already as a restaurant policy reduced the cup size of the peanut buster parfait dessert in the first place. I complained about the portion size to the employee and he deflected by getting his Manager. The Manager made a slightly better version with a little more ice cream and still no hot sauce or peanuts on top. I just took the dessert from the smiling Manager who thought that he had done a superb job. I even pointed out the picture on the menu of the peanut buster parfait to show what the dessert was supposed to look like. The Managers response was that that is for advertising purposes. I replied it wasn't even close to being like the picture. He didn't seem to care only that he was saving money on the meager portion sizes. For $8.81 after tax this is too expensive for being stingy. A premium price deserves the dessert to be made well and generous.
We like to go to DQ for a nice treat but when it becomes stressful and as a customer you have to argue not to feel significantly cheated its time to not come back to this location. We won't go to this location again this is the final straw. I wish this DQ location luck trying to stay afloat cheating people on...
Read moreOkay, I LOVE this DQ! I am a blizzard addict, and I have always been in love with Dairy Queen, but I haven't really ever liked the people who worked at the locations I had been going to. Since moving close to this DQ, it's the only one I go to and I must say that the staff here are absolutely phenomenal. Super kind and patient, they are always smiling and happy and they're good at what they do! I have also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this location and he is a wonderful man who takes enormous pride and joy in his DQ and genuinely strives to make sure it's a one of a kind location- let me tell you, he has absolutely succeeded!! I seriously can't even think of one thing I could complain about, their food is always freshly made and they don't cheap out on any of their food or dessert products. My only problem is that I love the staff so much, I find myself missing them and using it as an excuse to get more Blizzard's and eat way more sugar than any human...
Read moreConsider this folks! I live in the NE just outside the Core, and there are several DQs closer to me than this one. I choose to come here based on the courteous service and generous portions I always receive from this store. In addition to that, when I order a simple item like an ice cream cone, it is handed to me fresh out of the machine, nice and firm and no dripping. This is unlike most of the other locations who respond immediately through the microphone in the drive through so by the time I get to the window, it's warm and running all over the place. Unacceptable in all regards.
And finally, the blizzards are 100% thick, processed just right. You need a spoon to eat these. Just how they should be. The sundaes are large with generous amounts of fresh topping bursting with flavor. To die for.
You simply can't go wrong here.
5 Stars Plus...All Day Long.
