I was born in Calgary and have always lived in the northwest. I have been going to Northland McDonald’s for as long as I can remember. Recently I have had a bad experience going there and I am surprised because the last time I was there for breakfast I was greeted at drive thru by a really nice person who even asked me about how my morning was going. Fast forward a few days later me and my boyfriend wanted a late night snack. We ordered 2 ice creams, a junior chicken burger, fries and also some drinks. We got our order as usual and drove away while eating our ice creams first. We live in Edgemont which is like 3-5 mins away. So when we got home and open the bags everything was extremely cold, we have ordered food from that location many times and most of the time we get issues here and there like missing items and half cold food which we never bother complaining about. But today the food was stone cold and with the way prices are these days I wasn’t willing to let it go. So we drove back and asked if we could get a new burger and the girl at the window said to drive up and wait at the next window. We waited and a man came to the window saying next time we want hot food ask for them to microwave instead. I was not too sure about this comment and then my boyfriend said to check to see if the burger was warm enough. I felt it and the wrapping was hot so we thought we were good to go. Now we drive all the way back home again and I open my burger and take a bite and it tasted way off. I open it up and I realize the guy actually microwaved our burger instead of just make a brand new one. At this point I’m furious and I tell my boyfriend we are going back because it’s ridiculous to me why I would want a microwaved burger that’s supposed to have fresh lettuce and cold mayonnaise on it. Not only that he microwaved it for way too long. Look at the photo the chicken was soggy from the heat. So we went back again and they were even ruder the second time. The girl at the window ignored us at first and then she said “do you have a problem again” in a rude tone and we explained why we were upset especially when we had to drive back so many times. She said nothing and then called the other guy who was rude to us in the first place and he basically refused us a new burger. He said that we were gone for 30 mins and I said yes because we had to drive back and forth to this location to complain. And he said that I should have checked the burger inside and out. Honestly this is the dumbest thing I have heard. I always check my order to see if I’m missing food or got the wrong order but APPARENTLY you have to check your burger on the inside at a drive thru to make sure they don’t totally ruin your order. Absolutely ridiculous, like no just get my order right the first time. This guy actually argued with me and gave us no burger and we also lost our fries that we didn’t eat. I know what most be people are thinking it’s just McDonald’s but like all he had to do was make a new burger not microwave it. Through out the whole fiasco we were polite and cordial until the 3rd time around I did get upset but didn’t say anything rude just that what they did wasn’t right. My boyfriend was calm and still collected through the whole thing. There was absolutely nobody in line either so for them to complain about making one burger. It may just be fast food but we paid money for a service and got no service whatsoever. Treat others with respect and kindness that’s all. It doesn’t matter what your job is or even your wage just be nice,it’s really...
Read moreShocked I'm even asked to leave a review about McDonald's...but if Google wants it, Googles gonna get it! McDonald's is McDonald's, it is almost an essential entity in our society and truth be told, we would be far better without it then with it. But thats just my opinion, and if you're reading this, clearly you want my opinion on it. This particular one was just gross, like most, gross. My son had just finished a Hockey Game and was hungry so we decided to go for the Old Quick and Dirty, we were greeted at the door by a couple of drunk drug addicts rummaging through the garbage, we could barely make it past their shopping carts to get through the main entrance. There was no one at the order desk so we had to use the self serve Kiosks which needed a real good deep clean, The food came all in disposable packaging and as per usual and standard for McDonald's extremely sauced up with Mayo and way too much Habanero sauce. Once my hands were completely covered in Habanero sauce I quickly discovered the void of napkins inside our paper bag of food, so I had to do the good old hands in the air covered in sauce walk over to the napkin counter that's covered in ketchup. We finished our meals and departed McDonald's. The Drunk Drug Addicts held the door open for us And wished us a great evening, which was the most human interaction we had at McDonald's our whole visit, my son was curious what the people by the employee only entrance were smoking and why they were using a glass pipe to do so...my response is a tale for another time. Maybe I'll try the drive thru on my next visit, or just make it to the McDonald's closer to home that houses a slightly more pleasant...
Read moreWent to this location last night because they were the only location serving Shamrock Shakes. We elected to pick up our mobile order thru the drive thru as there was absolutely no parking whatsoever. After entering the drive thru we sat at the ordering speaker for a good 2 minutes before being asked to order and informing them that we had a mobile order. We sat in the drive thru line for at least 10 minutes before receiving our cold food (fries, Apple pie and burgers along with soupy milkshakes) even though we arrived when the app said it was ready. We went inside to order chicken nuggets after we forgot to order them on the mobile order, it was the same disastrous disappointment inside. The kitchen was swamped and multiple employees were sweeping the restaurant floor even though it was clean, only one person was taking orders. A 20 piece nuggets took 10 minutes to scoop in a box and put in a paper bag, at least they were warm! Having made the long trek back to our car in a other parking lot we found the aforementioned disastrous food. I would like to think its a Saturday night rush but it seemed like with staff standing around when customers were waiting on there food there was a lack of preparation to say “hey lots of people are going to be here at once don’t stand around”. I don’t like to act like a Karen but I thought people who know, my advice is don’t come on a...
