I have been an avid supporter of Mighty Mango in the past. Except for tonight and never again.

We called to place an order for pickup with the caveat that there is a zucchini allergy. They said it was not a problem at all, they could accommodate that. The order was over $90 total, not including the tip we gave. We received the food an began to eat, and the food was good...until we dug a little deeper. Further inside several dishes we found zucchini, AFTER the person with the allergy ate some of the tainted food. We called to talk with the store about the mishap and they blamed us first. Then said that when they get busy they, quote, "don't really pay attention". They stated that they would give us two items for free the next time we visit. When we explained that we were upset by this and wouldnt be able to come back if they can't accommodate the allergy, they hung up on us. Yes, we should have triple checked that there was no zucchini in the food. We confirmed with the restaurant, checked both receipts, and glanced at the top of the food, but we did not search throughout the food bit by bit for zucchini before eating. That is on us. However, when you agree to accomodate a customer with an allergy, you should make sure that allergen isn't in MULTIPLE dishes they order. This isn't a preference, but a legitimate allergy. Then to hang up when confronted?! Between that and the full admission that they simply don't care when they get busy, I will never be back. It's a shame, I liked some of their food before it was tainted.

Update: We called back and they finally agreed to give us a refund. They sent a delivery boy to bring us the money...in $5 bills, dimes, and nickles. They still kept the tip.

Update based on owners response:

The dishes that had zucchini were the mixed vegetables (which the person with the allergy did not eat) and the Shanghai noodles (which they did eat).

The person had an allergic reaction but it wasn't anaphylaxis, thank goodness. They are okay. Once two dishes were contaminated, we could no longer trust that the rest of the food was safe. So we were not happy just being offered the two items for free next time we ordered.

After they hung up on me, a different family member did call instead of myself.

We were upset on the phone, particularly after they hung up on us. And we did insist on a full refund. We never called names but we did stress the importance that this was an allergy they...

We have eaten at Mighty Mango for 5 years now. We even go there for dinner on Christmas Day. The service here has always been a little lacking, the occasional rudeness and slowness - but the food has always made up for it!! This past Christmas Day, like we have for 5 years - my family and I walked into Mighty Mango for dinner. We were met with an INCREDIBLY rude lady who told us to leave as we did not have a reservation. There were only two people working, and only two tables in the restaurant. I was told that it would take a minimum of 1 hour for me to even get water to my table and then she told me to leave. A nice gentleman came up behind her and was very polite and told me that we were welcome to stay - but we should have made a reservation. So I asked "How was I supposed to know we were to make a reservation, if I have never before?" He agreed and apologized and then the lady, once again, told us she was too busy to help my family of 4. When I asked her if she wanted my business - she said NO.

I know a lot of people go to this place, and losing my business won't hurt them - But an impression like this being left with me, will prevent me from recommending this place...

I have never been so disappointed in a place who had no concern for the condition of their food we received. To start with we had ordered from here before and the food was hot and very good. This time the food was cold - tasteless … the noodles on the one Dish where soggy - and in the center was a clump of dried out noodles that looked like they had sat in the buffet warmer all day. The chicken wings were dried out - the shrimp looked like it was a can of cocktail shrimp that was battered and fried - you couldn’t even chew it. When we called the restaurant to let them know their response was we are sorry - we asked is there anything you can do and they said hold on a minute - came back on the phone and no we can’t but we are sorry - so we asked them So we call skip and complain and give you a bad review? Her reply was yes and she hung up. Needless to say skip was more accommodating and apologetic. Won’t ever order from here again - The reviews for eating in at this location are better because they can’t get away with serving crappy food. This restaurant should be ashamed of the way they handle customer...

I'm sorry to say, but I would not go back here. I appreciate their effort with the presentable restaurant but my problem is with the food. The prices are about average compared to other Chinese restaurants but I feel their prices are not justified since the quality of the food. My experience was already at a low point until I saw what I ordered as "chop suey". Now, I am Asian and I've had my fair share of Chinese food and chop suey dishes, but I've never seen a chop suey dish with just bean sprouts (and think sliced carrots and celery) as the ingredients of the dish. I urge you reader: Google any Chop Suey dish on the internet and it consists of more than just bean sprouts celery and carrots. I would have rated this place 0 starts if possible but the one saving Grace is that when someone called to order I heard them answer the phone and she pronounced "mighty" as "mee-tee" mango. It made me laugh, hence the 1 star. Tldr; sorry but this place deserves 1 star, will not come back; if u do choose to come here do not order the chop suey :/

Not sure where all the complaints about quality, portions, or dryness are coming from because Might Mango delivers! Our mid-week dine-in experience was fantastic—exactly what you'd want from Americanized Chinese cuisine. Heads up on the hot chilies if you’ve got a sensitive stomach like me, but otherwise, no complaints. The portions are massive, the service is top-notch, and the food is prepared with care, not rushed. We had plenty of leftovers (and trust me, two of us are big eaters). Here’s what we ordered: salt & pepper squid, chicken soo gai, ginger beef, chicken fried rice, and beef Shanghai noodles. A note of caution: if the mixed seafood is priced the same as squid, expect imitation scallops and maybe just one prawn. Let’s be real, though—what did you expect? Pro-tip: treat the staff with respect, and you’ll get the same in return. And now for the big finish... (drumroll) We’ll definitely be back!
