I hate to leave bad reviews, but Iāve been coming here long enough and been disappointed too many times that I have to. I frequently come for the chocolate chip cookie and the quality is so inconsistent, itās a risk every time (but when they are good, they are good and I am weak and like my cookies so I keep trying). The last time I was here (April 13) I ordered a cookie and the girl gave me two because they were stuck together. I could tell that the middle was undercooked and that theyād been stacked while hot and thatās why she couldnāt separate them. I bit into one and the centre was very underdone, and the cookies were just greasy for lack of a better term. I brought them home and even tried to bake them myself for a few minutes to see if they could but salvaged, but without any luck. This was the first time I'd had them be so severely underdone, as usually my issue is that they are overdone/burnt. They often taste a little different as well, as if the recipe isn't being followed exactly each time. Again, when these cookies are baked well (and the ingredients are measured correctly), they are pretty good, but Iāve found over the past year and a half itās like a 50/50 chance as to whether they are worth it. The quality control seems to be lacking (or totally missing). Iām super bummed and donāt think Iāll be back, at least not...
Ā Ā Ā Read morebreads: We've tried the country bread, sourdough, rye, very seedy multigrain, and sourdough bread mixed olive. They're passable but are all too dense personally speaking. I prefer a lighter and more hole-y sourdough. I wouldn't buy these here at the price point unless I had no other alternative croissants: Basically tried all their variations. The cronut and Kouign Amann are very good if you'd like a sweet hit. My gripe here is that the quality seems to have hit a landslide since the summer. We used to come here weekly to get their pain au chocolate - it was light, flaky, crispy, out-of-this-world good. But this summer all of a sudden they became soft and bready, like the ones that you'd get at the supermarket. Seriously, what happened!??? Bring the old chocolate croissants back!!! dessert pots: I'm sure these would appear to someone but I'm not a fan (too sweet,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go to the FM west at least once a week and frequently buy the chocolate cream pie in a jar when Iām there. 2 times in the last couple of months, the chocolate has been sour and another time, mixed poorly and tasted off. When they are good, this dessert is delicious but itās too inconsistent. I complained once and was offered 10% off my next purchase. Iāve had the cinnamon buns - dry. The mini cakes - bland. And today I got 2 macarons, one chocolate for me and a raspberry one for my son. The raspberry one seemed fine but the chocolate was very crunchy/ crumbly and seemed over baked. The staff arenāt super friendly or sympathetic to issues in my experience. Itās too bad because I go to the farmers market so frequently, but Iām putting this bakery on pause for...
