We came here for Valentine's Day. I haven't been to a Moxies in a very long time. Probably 6-7 years. I have to say we were very impressed. The food and service was great. Lots of parking available. We started with the Calamari and the Tuna Sushi Stack. We Enjoyed both these dishes. The Calamari was perfectly cooked and was served with 2 dipping sauces. A creamy garlic dip and a thai sweet sauce. The Tuna sushi stack was full different textures and flavours. The tuna sashimi was mixed with avocado and mango which really evaluated the dish with sweet and salty. You scoop the mix onto these shrimp chips and it was added crunch. We got the 2 can dine special and upgrade the steaks to the rib eyes. The steaks were perfectly cooked medium rare. They came over and did fresh cracked pepper. The peppercorn sauce was way to salty. I had to avoid this sauce as it was just too salty for me. The mashed potatoes were decent. I found them just a little bit over worked. The asparagus also was a tad over cooked. But aside from that still a very good meal. The dessert included was 3 desserts of their dessert menus. These were smaller portions but gave as variety and chance to try most of the desserts. I was excited for the white chocolate brownie cause I remember how good it was back in the day. But it was not as good as I remember it. I thought it would have been the best dessert on the plate but it was not. It was not as warm as I remember. The key lime pie was our favourite. The other was a sticky toffee pudding with a caramel sauce and scoop of ice cream. It was topped with toasted almonds and it was probably our second favourite. The kids enjoyed their chicken fingers and pasta. Their meals came with a volcano style scoop of ice cream which they loved. Kids love dry ice! Overall we had a great dinner experience at Moxies. The service was good and the food was great. There could be some improvements but I would say better than Earls! We would come back again forsure.

Moxies has been a mainstay in the community for many years, and it’s clear why it remains popular. On my recent visit on a Wednesday evening, the atmosphere was as classy, professional, and welcoming as ever. The service was both friendly and swift, which is always enjoyable when you're feeling a little hungry. For my meal, I opted for the French Dip accompanied by sides of French fries and sweet potato fries, and I finished with a white chocolate brownie for dessert. The French Dip itself was enjoyable, particularly with the horseradish providing a lively kick and the au jus enhancing the overall flavor profile. The fries, however, were somewhat average—neither particularly cold nor hot. What really stood out was the gravy I ordered on the side; it was so good that it was the best part of the fries, making them significantly more enjoyable. This gravy is definitely one of those memorable sauces that leave you wondering how to replicate it at home. The sweet potato fries were similar in quality to the French fries, average but greatly improved by the tasty dip, which I highly recommend asking for extra. The dessert, a white chocolate brownie, remained a highlight and a classic choice that never fails to impress. Though some components of the meal, like the freshness of the fries, could use improvement, the overall dining experience at Moxies was very positive. The inviting atmosphere and standout dessert continue to make it a worthy choice for a pleasant evening out.

came here for valentines dinner. we were able to park literally in front of the door and were seated immediately with our reservations. they had chocolate covered strawberries and drinks in the waiting area which was unexpected and fun! they also had a photo area set up for valentine’s day with props and everything! rose petals scattered on the floor and hearts taped up everywhere. it was amazing! for appetizer we had calamari which was delicious esp with the sauce it came with. dessert we got the brownie and the sticky toffee pudding. i personally preferred the brownie but wow the pudding was huge - i think the mini would have been more than enough my main was the rigatoni. i asked for no chicken and instead just give me more pasta. he said he would tell them to give me more, and also asked if i wanted shrimp instead. i asked if it would be extra and he said a little. i thought since i asked for no chicken it wouldn’t be that much extra but at the end i saw they charged full price with the extra $5 shrimp. if i knew that was the case i would have just kept the chicken for the same price AND added the shrimp on top for the $5 so i felt a little tricked there… and i did not receive extra pasta either. a little disappointed in that aspect. overall it was a great atmosphere where we were able to take a lot of pictures, have nice tasting food, and a fun night overall.

It is BEYOND obvious that Moxies writes their own reviews and flags negative ones. This place is not accessible, hostess go on their phone, servers talk about us in front of us. It’s disgusting. If your black you are not welcome here. The way we were treated compared to white families.

Moxies got my original review deleted. I’ve already reported my experience to the Calgary Herald and I have witnesses.

You can tell that most of these reviews are fake! They’re calling out the same people complimenting them saying the same thing with the restaurant giving the same automatic responses.

Had a very upsetting experience last month and to this day it is still on my mind. This is so cruel. I wouldn’t be so angry if the manager wasn’t so passive aggressive.

We had a reservation for 8. I mentioned on the phone that my mother had severe mobility issues and was overweight, and the manager Paige said they would accommodate. When we got to the restaurant Host ‘Alexa’ showed us our placement. My mother was very flabbergasted with where we were placed. Unfortunately the restaurant had no other space to place us unless we wanted to all be split up. The host called her manager Andy who said he can’t do much. The host was extremely apologetic. She took my mother’s hand and helped her up the stairs with her walker. She seemed sincere. It sent chills down my mine that people are still kind enough. The host mentioned that on her notes there wasn’t an accommodation mentioned but if we could wait 5-10 minutes she could clear up another table coming in for a different reservation and a table that didn’t require stairs. The host next to her was on her phone and provided no help either. Now the part that fills me with absolute rage is the Manager was watching from a corner almost in laughter at my mothers struggle. Is this how we treat our guests? I guess the other large table was cleared up below because the host alerted us immediately and offered the switch but then I heard her fellow worker stop her and say there’s already another reservation even though they knew our struggle. She told the other worker the reservation can have our spot since we haven’t ordered or been helped yet. I saw the other waiter roll her eyes in oblivion. Sadly we had the same server ‘Raylean’ serve us. She couldn’t and would not stop rolling her eyes at every demand. We complained about our glasses having obvious finger prints and she said they’re busy and need to understand that certain things happen. My mother was coughing quite a ton and getting dirty looks from other waiters and the manager ‘Andy.’ I am extremely disgusted with the service. Not to mention we were given a rock hard brownie for dessert. Not to mention we all ordered the black shrimp tacos. Only 5 came out then the server last minute told us they were out of shrimp. Why would she not tell us before? They had no care for our table at all. We ordered a second round of pops and sides but never received them. I work at the Earl’s as a chef in Dalhousie and the kitchen always alerts when they are...

It’s funny how everyone has gotten reply here when they rated them 4 or 5 stars but I send them email last week still not reply .

It was unpleasant experience at moxies on December 31,2022 . I was with my family expecting a great meal with great service but it wasn’t the case . I think I ordered about 160 dollars of a food but didn’t even enjoyed a second of it . Just had to eat it for the sake of it . My problems were the following :

  1. We didn’t felt welcomed at the entrance when I said I want table for 4 , there were no hi or hello or welcome to moxies . And also we had two different waitresses taking our food order , looking confused rather than tallying with each other .

  2. There were no proper cutlery or napkins according the number of people on the tables , my guest had to use my hands .

  3. WHEN FOOD was served , I had to literally ask for plates . Do you expect me to eat from the bowls . Then plates came after I requested them .

  4. When we were done with the food , they took some of our dirty cutlery and never gotten back for new one .

  5. Nobody came to inquire about the food , everyone was so rushed , where I could have asked for napkins as I needed extras . I had no choice but to continue on what was given wrong or right .

  6. The thing which I was offended by the most is I ordered a kids meal with kids apple juice and you have given me adult glass with a straw that barely reaches his mouth . Upon complaining they gave me a plastic cup with improper lids , upon asking they said they are out of stock for lids . You expect 3.5 year old to drink from unfitted lid cup . And what happens next is he spills all the drink on his pants and it was such a cold weather that day that he had to go like this and eat in wet pants as there were no extra pants .

  7. Coming to Food : the best thing was ur fries , they were fresh and everyone enjoyed it but tacos had too much sauce on it too much and wings weren’t thats great , food was brought so quick and didn’t taste as fresh as it would and wings were kind of too much sweet ( over the top ) and poke bowl had so much salt and my mom has bp, she decided not to finish it and give it to somebody else later . Too much ice in drinks compare to actual drink

  8. Regardless , dad still gave 20 dollars cash tip to your waitress , who didn’t seem to me much interested in us anyways because I have also worked in the food industry and I know how important it is to tip and how people hard work behind bringing that great food which customers wants to enjoy . But this time around end of the year customer service and food wasn’t...
