A&W Canada — Restaurant in Calgary

Wow, what a disappointing experience. I visited this A&W location on Wednesday, August 20th for dinner and went through the drive-thru. I ordered two poutines, two apple pies, and a frozen root beer. While the food itself was great, the frozen root beer was not, it was completely liquid and tasted flat.

Before leaving the window, I politely asked if this was supposed to be a frozen root beer, as I’ve had them before and know what they should be like. The gentleman mentioned something about “cream,” and the machine having no ice, and I clarified that I just wanted a regular frozen root beer. He kindly offered to remake it and asked me to pull up to the front of the store. I appreciated that and waited as instructed.

Unfortunately, that’s where everything went downhill. I watched him continue to assist other guests and even deliver food to tables, but he never brought out my drink. After about 15 minutes, I tried waving to get his attention, but I was completely ignored, even as he locked the restroom doors. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, I gave up and drove home with cold poutines, cold apple pies, and no frozen root beer.

If you’re going to tell a customer to wait out front for an item, please follow through. Making someone wait outside and then forgetting about them is not acceptable. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience, and I sincerely hope the management addresses it so no one else is left sitting outside like I was.

What a lousy template reply. My review already contains everything that went wrong, and I will not be emailing so this issue can just “disappear” from public view. If A&W truly cared, the response would address the details I provided instead of copying and pasting a generic message. Please do better in addressing...

I went to the restaurant around 10 for my breakfast and this is what I got we ordered through drive through and the manager served us this foods disgusting even the animals will not eat this kind if food all burned burgers poutine will make you sick. Is this how the managers are trained to serve the customers elderly customers use foul language and condemn their elders in awefull manner. I would like to see the owners of this A&W in person if possible with the manager on duty. She's not capable of working in any of the food industry in canada should chose a different career. I'm really pissed that no one values our rights to live freely 7 of us came to the restaurant and were treated like we were nothing but just a bunch of stuff that no one cares about we pay it's not like we eat for free and we get this kind of service I would like the management to Fite this lady on the spot Ara was her name the manager with attitude problem and a very nasty mouth doesn't have any experience as a position she is assigned to with a underrated personality. I don't recommend any of my families or friends to go to this restaurant at all. We all got sick of her behavior and the food she served me I wonder what kind of boss does she have that doesn't care about what her staffs are doing specially the morning shift people who work at this restaurant. This place should be inspected by the city of calgary. I will be filing a lawsuit against this issue if I don't get a response...

Extremely disappointed with the carelessness of the staff at this location (one individual in particular named Joel). Went to go go some food from A&W and right away when we were ordering Joel's tone was on the rude side but we ignored it. When we got to the widow and noticed he wasnt wearing any gloves it concerned us. But we thought he was just handling cash and not touching food. But once the food was ready he without cleaning his hands ( saw him touch his face with them) started putting the food in the bag. We didn't wanna sound mean but at times like these not wearing gloves and being the careless is just not acceptable. So we mentioned him not wearing gloves and Joel just closed the widow on our face and went to get the remaining of our food. When he came back he mentioned if we wanted to complain about this we can. He sounded confident that nothing will happen to him. So I'm writing this review to create awareness about the carelessness of this one individual. Hopefully someone...
