Noodlebox — Restaurant in Calgary

We had tried NoodleBox at a different location in Calgary and we really liked it. So when we realized that they had a location near us we were very excited and I am happy to report that they did not disappoint. The food was exactly what we remember from the first time we tried it. We were not able to go to the actual place, so we ordered in, and we know that this is not ideal for them but this time we just needed to order something quick as we were not able to cook. The food was delivered exactly as we had ordered it, they used a compostable bag, and recyclable containers, compostable napkins, and chopsticks. They also had a very nice touch as they included a hand written note thanking us for supporting them. My dish was delicious, which was the spicy peanut box and I really liked it. It was 9:40pm and searched everywhere for noodles. Nothing in sight. Then I found Noodlebox. Ordered their Pad Thai scorching hot with char Siri pork and beef. Admittedly it wasn’t what I was looking for tonight but I wanted stir fried noods. They questioned my choice of Heat a few times as I know they just want to make sure I have a good experience. Very nice folks and they paid attention to the peanut allergy my house has.

So here’s my review. Overall I enjoyed it. The char Siri pork was tasty and tender. The beef was tough, I’ll get chicken and pork next time. The veggies were still crispy which is awesome! The sauce was tasty. The Heat level……….it’s not the hottest but I think for most people their mid range would be too spicy for them. If you’re used to spicy foods all the time then mid range to scorching will be your realm...

Third time I’ve eaten here and it did not match previous experience.

Walked in to a vacant front end, however could see the two cooks in the back area on phones, listening to rap.

After about 1.5-2 minutes I waved and called out to them and asked if someone was going to help us. The cook took our order, which I had the ginger beef full spice. Let me preface my next comment, by explaining I am a spice connoisseur and have ghost, scorpion peppers/sauce regularly. This was insane!!! I’ve never been affected that way before. Not even close to palatable. I am beginning to wonder whether the spice was because I challenged them on their poor service.
