My daughter & I love the Calgary Farmers Market and we often meet up with family on Saturdays. Today we were alone but hungry. She decided on ramen from the Oishidesu Ramen Shack. She ordered the Kamikazi ramen dish. I found a table right beside the restaurant. While sitting there, I saw they had Goyza and several other dishes for $5. I love goyza so I had my daughter order them for me. They gave her an electronic pager which is so handy as you usually have to hunt for a seat. The order was ready quite quickly. The soup smelled so good, I did ask for some! The broth was rich and creamy. Yum! The goyza was really crispy on the outside while the inside was absolutely delish! We both loved them. Next time we go to the market, we decided to try some of their 'snack' dishes for 5$ each. But for sure a order goyza EACH!! Thanks we enjoyed our lunch. The reason there is a picture of an empty bowl is because we were so hungry and it was so good!! :)

I ate the Kamikaze (tonkotsu). Out of the 12 or so ramen restaurants that I've tried in Calgary, this is definitely the best one I've had in a food court (it's also the only ramen shop I know of in a food court). Overall I was actually impressed, the noodles and pork are pretty good, and the broth is way above average food court expectations. The veggies we're probably the biggest disappointment, especially the beans (which were really firm and snappy) and the mushrooms (which were soggy and not flavourful). I really appreciate the sous vide egg (the rich yolk is delicious with a spoonful of broth) but I think it's actually TOO soft because it broke when using chopsticks and the spoon was too small to hold it. When comparing to other ramen-only restaurants in Calgary, I can't think of a reason to come here over the others unless you never leave the south west but I am confident they'll improve over time so I'll be back in a few months.

Ordered a Kamikaze Ramen thru Skip, and I must say that it's very delicious. The broth is amazing and got a good kick, the pork is soft, edamame is cooked right (not snappy nor soggy), noodles are not soggy as well and it was arranged neatly on my bowl. I like the sous vide egg, it was creamy and really complemented the broth. I'm glad I ordered extra. What I love the most is that I ordered a Yuzon Lemonade and I was just expecting it to come in a plastic or paper cup, but no, it came in a mason jar. Love it! My meal is worth every penny. Thanks!

I've been here twice now, both times ordering pork belly soup with pork broth, though with different fixings.

The first time, I tried bamboo shoots in my soup, and they didn't sit well on my tastebuds but everything else tasted good.

The second time, I ordered corn, scallions, enoki & shitake mushrooms and the dish was up there with the best ramen I've had. There is no other ramen place in the vicinity that compares.

Pork Broth - creamy, fatty, salty (but not quite as much as I've normally found with tonkontsu) and just the right temperature for my preferences. I can only think of two or three ramen places with tonkontsu broth I enjoy more and they are larger establishments, farther away than I'd like, and more expensive.

Pork Belly - I love this pork belly. Thick, tender, layers of fat and meat that almost melts in the mouth. I've only ever had one serving of better pork belly, and the only difference between that and this was that the fat from Oishidesu was not carmelized with a cooking torch. It's a small thing though, and even without it, it's far ahead of other ramen pork belly offerings I have enjoyed.

Noodles - the noodles were standard restaurant ramen noodles, not the poorer quality instant ramen kind. The only reason I mention this is I have, disappointedly, had ramen at a other ramen shops which used the instant noodle and so thought others, picky like me, would appreciate the information.

Default Fixings - shredded seaweed, fish-cake slice, and egg. All pretty standard fare except some may find the egg somewhat undercooked for their preferences, though I enjoyed it the way it was. I'm not 100% sure this list is inclusive as I paid more attention to the broth and the meat .

Custom Fixings - The corn, scallions, enoki and shitake I chose the second time all tasted as expected and will likely remain my go-to moving forward.

Beyond that, I also asked for a side seaweed salad, was informed that it was not available for purchase but was given a small side of it anyway, which was...

We ordered 2 sumo ramens, one with mushroom and one without(allergy) as well as added extra toppings. When our food arrived, we were starving so we ate immediately, only to realize that our orders had been completely mixed up. The no mushroom had mushrooms, the toppings for the mushroom sumo were on the no mushroom. We didn’t notice all this at first because a) there’s a lot of ingredients in the bowls and b) who is going to pick through each bowl to make sure it’s all there. From our first impression, it looked alright, his had the extra eggs on top, mine was covered in red Chili, so we knew who’s was who’s. Unfortunately a light allergy attack was the result of the mix up. I immediately filled out Skip The Dishes complaint form, but never heard back. So we called the next day, not expecting a refund or anything mind you, just to explain to them what had gone wrong for us. The owner then ranted to me on the phone that we should’ve thoroughly inspected our order first, and that since we have no photo of our order, it made it difficult for her to show the chefs what went wrong. After 5 minutes of her ranting, and holding the phone away from my ear as they went on and on, I thanked her and said goodbye. I agree that we should’ve taken a photo, but again, we just wanted to let them know that they screwed it up - not get victim blamed for THEIR mistake. We won’t be returning just because of the error in our order, but the lack of professionalism in handling a situation that never should’ve happened in the first place. Very disappointed and will be taking our business to a location...

Absolutely terrible. Food is NOT fresh and made my son sick.

We ordered a Poke bowl for my child and rather than salmon, it was tuna - which was fine. Issue was the food was not fresh and tuna was extremely fishy tasting. I tried it when my child said it tasted horrible in case it was a case of simple whining, this was not the case. The tuna was so disgusting I too spit it out. The rice was also super over cooked and soggy like congee porridge. For $14 you'd expect some quality....

Price is ridiculous for what you get especially since it isn't fresh. $14 for a small poke bowl...wow.

Service was horrible too!!! All she did was sit there in her phone and as soon as I went up to order and pay, it was attitude capital like I disturbed her. I have no idea what she thinks a job is but she definitely doesn't understand what a job is in my opinion.

I highly do NOT recommend this joint, it is one of the top worst places I have ever been too.

Service 0/5 Food 0/5 Atmosphere N/A Price 0/5

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. Definitely not what you would expect from a smaller mom and pop...
