Weeeeird vibe with staff that yell at you for… wanting to see a menu? Trying to pay your bill? Server/owner/whatever tells us “this is a fine dining establishment and you can’t be standing around” when a couple people in our group got up out of their seats to say goodbye because they had to leave early. The guy got so riled that we were “standing around” and scolding us saying “this isn’t a bar” (it’s literally called Rain Dog Bar, it’s high top tables and bar stools, also the place was EMPTY aside from our group)….none of us were “standing around”, they were getting up to leave, and the guy serving us was so pissed when we commented that he was rude to our friends that he literally told us to all settle up / kicked us out. Not sure what his deal is but his weird and shitty treatment of our entire group of 20+ people cost him/his kitchen staff thousands of dollars because he asked us to leave early for no reason. Genuinely it was so slow half the chefs are on their phone, and this dude is throwing a tantrum and tossing out his only customers. Don’t waste your time here. This dude was having a Carmy-level meltdown without the goods to back it up (sloppy decor and stapled menus, only serve beer and wine/no hard liquor - straight up just said “no” when someone in our group requested a gin and tonic, and the literally threw a menu at another person when they were asking about beers on tap). Idk. Don’t waste your time, don’t waste your money, go literally anywhere else within a 2 block radius where you’ll be treated like a valued guest instead of an...

Came here for dinner with friends. Service was great, server was well educated on the food and was able to help with recommendations. She keep our table full and water glasses full. Decor reminds me of your grandma's house with old portraits and antiques and warm lighting. Family style, I had: Charred broccoli in a sweet cream sauce, a little on the sweet side, broccoli a little over; Potato rosti, latke was crispy flavored well, haddock mousse was a great touch, the best dish of the night; King oyster mushroom carpaccio with FIRE, tasty, meat like texture with a smokey "charred" flavour. Food mates had pork shoulder which was well cooked, tasty with a mustard and apple butter? Sweethearts are small, but we were warned of this. Also had a cheese plate with bread and choose the Roqueford, Tellagio and Hercule. Blue cheese was smooth, and went well with honey. Cranberry jam was on the tart side. Had the Moody porter which was smooth and well balanced beer. Lastly had the chocolate bar which was a carrot cake bar with a dark chocolate coating in a white chocolate ganache. Ganache was on the sweet side for the dish. Probably would've been okay with a ice cream instead. Will need a coffee or tea to have with dessert. Wish they had espresso machine and larger selection of teas or ice wine or beer parings with dessert. Would be nice to have flights of bers on tap to try more than one beer. Overall: Nice place for drinks or a homestyle meal. Cost $12-$20 per dish. Dessert $8. Total for four to have at least one main dish was $50-$60 per person....

Went here with high expectations. Unfortunately the service was so so slow. We ordered five dishes and dessert. We had reservations. We walked in and no hostess or anyone came to greet us. Every waiter was dressed in regular clothes so it was hard to tell who was a waiter. We had someone come up to us after a bit of a wait. We were seated. They didn’t have cups for water but asked us to order drinks. We order drinks and surprisingly they have glasses for drinks but not water. Water comes later. We ordered five entrees for four people. We wait forty minutes for the first dish. Beef tartare. Thought it was weird that the dishes dont come all together. Whatever. We ordered dessert and it came early before our fifth dish. The pork I swear is 44th street slow braised pork from Costco. The Rosti was pretty good. They comped us for the dessert coming early saying that it was a misunderstanding on their part even though I heard my SIL ask for it to come after the whole meal. Again dishes were slow. We had to flag down the waiter for the bill at the end. We were there at 6pm. Waiting for five entrees itself, we were done by 7:45pm. A two hour affair for five entrees that were smaller in portion. Moreover, the waitress corrected us on the name of dishes a few times even though it’s really dark and I can’t really read the menu. The menu itself should be printed differently so it’s easier to read. I’m not sure it’s worth...

Staff was welcoming, knowledgeable, and very customer aware that it's sweet. My friend was scratching at the plate, thinking that it was dirty (it's just the style), and the staff brought a clean plate by just in case. The menu layout was quirky and cute and there were some interesting, tempting dishes. I liked how they offered drink pairings for the dishes. I quite enjoyed the soft pretzels (not usually a pretzel fan), paired well with the beer cheese and mustard. I ordered the chicken pate on toast. It was a good kind of interesting - more on the weird food, comfort food side. I actually would order it again. I enjoyed the window seat with a glass of Jameson Irish Whiskey, so I was super content (especially with the rainfall white noise outside). The place wasn't overly loud, so conversations can still be enjoyed without losing your voice. Seating is nicely spaced so people don't bump back of chairs together. Decor is quirky and fun. This may be our new comfort spot.
