Ricky's All Day Grill - Shawnessy — Restaurant in Calgary

The food is alright but the service is all over the place. They weren't very organized and it was confusing who we were supposed to be dealing with. When we went to order our kids food to the lady who brought our drinks, she explained that she wasn't our waitress so we apologized. A lady then came who we assumed was our waitress and we ordered our kids meals and asked for a few minutes for ours. Our waitress was okay but seemed stressed and we felt like we were in the way. When we were ready to order my husband asked the drinks lady if we could order because we were finally ready, he wasn't trying to be rude, he was just letting them know we were finally ready because it took us a while to figure out what we wanted and he said it very nicely. Our waitress shot up from behind the glass and very rudely said she would be with us but she's serving tables in order. Her tone was very defensive and almost snappy and so I responded that it's okay we were just asking. At that point I wanted to leave because we weren't really sure why our visit was so tense. We decided to wait because we had already ordered the kids food and shortly after our waitress came back and was completely different. She was really nice the rest of our time there but it just really threw us off the way everything happened in the beginning that we really just wanted to eat our food and go. Honestly my family and I have been going here for years, and generally we’re pretty happy with the service, and the food is consistently good, but tonight we truly had a terrible experience. Never have I felt so disrespected, and Unvalued as a customer.

First of all the restaurant was completely empty and the waitress sat us at a DIRTY table, like there were physical crumbs and water marks on the table, and when my mom, very politely asked if it was dirty, the waitress very begrudgedly sprayed it once and wiped just near the edge of the table, and there was literally still crumbs on the table.

All we wanted was dessert, and even though we were there half an hour before closing we felt very pressured by the waitress to order immediately, and got the distinct impression she wanted us to leave.

The food was good but it came out sort of cold, which was confusing and disappointing since we were the only people in the restaurant, and our waitress even tried to take my dads water before he finished drinking it.

All in all it was a bad experience, we all left feeling disgruntled, and disappointed, and we even left ten minutes before their closing time, so it’s not like we were or would have put them out by being there.

I work in the restaurant industry, and I honestly feel like this quality of service is unacceptable. I would not eat here again if I saw that same...

We went out for lunch and got there at exactly 12, the food took over 45 minutes to get to us, and it really was not that busy, but it’s not that big of a deal we wouldnt go in to a restaurant if we were in a huge hurry. We also ordered a coke and it tasted really off, so we got a second one just to see and maybe it was the syrup but the second one was worse. The second after we paid, the server immediately checked the receipt to see how much we tipped, and complained immediately that it was 20 cents, and started going on about how she has to tip out the kitchen so we should at least tip 7% and trying to make us feel bad. We tipped the 20 cents to even out the the bill to a full $40, just cause it’s fun, and had a $5 bill to tip cause we had spare Change. I don’t understand why you would put down a costumer like that? We intended to tip more but after the comments it set us back so much we just didn’t. Never have I experienced this, and as a former server I would never do this?! Even if we were not going to tip don’t say this? It is not our responsibility to pay this, you knew signing up to work here you were going to have to pay out the kitchen? That is completely your fault, not all restaurants do that, go work at a different one if you are going to complain to costumers about this. Very...
