First time ordering from Seed & Salt. My order was for delivery. Packing two full black Americanos in a half cut unstable take out tray ontop of a lid that has them rocking back and forth is wild. Bag was soaked at the bottom and soaking thru on the sides. Missed half the coffee. **NB! Please specify in take out apps or in general for those who eat tofu that when it says “additional tofu” and the word spicy is not included. There is no general consensus in my years on the earth where tofu is implied spicy. I called and the girl was like “yeah it’s all spicy” … okay? How are we to know this?? lol More so just a too bad so sad. So I asked if that could be passed along and updated so there is no confusion. So please specify because it is extremely spicy and I wouldn’t have ordered it. Unfortunately it was disheartening The portions of Ingredients compared to other similar healthy eateries, these were super tiny. Spread out thin to make it look like a lot. Half my ingredients In a warm bowl were half cold and half were warm. Yams were shrivelled up from being pre roasted a few too many times. And were cold. And with super over roasted/over salted broccoli. I love salt but that was diabolical. In the curry with next to no sauce so half the rice was dry. I paid extra to add in red cabbage in this one and got like a tablespoon of shredded cabbage.. ? Same with the black beans adding into my salad to have any form of protein in it. And like a tablespoon. Even if it’s mainly rice in the warm bowls as filler, it was a bit shocking how little there was in my bowl. Maybe a one off just for me? I don’t know. Maybe it’s standard. (Looking now after it seems like a regular ongoing similar issues ) I guess ill read the worst first Insted of the best first. Unfortunately based on many healthy spots in BC. Canmore. Ontario and other shops that opened abroad from Oz …to Aussies opening them in Thailand and Dubai. This by far was not a great experience for me. I always hope and look forward to trying new spaces like these or seeking out healthy restaurants like this knowing it’s usually always nourishing, a vibe of care that’s usually superior to regular every day restaurants regarding the order, or staff, portions, and the clients in general. This just didn’t seem to be evident. Which was unfortunate.

I have been getting take out salad bowls for a couple of years now from Seed N Salt. They make hearty bowls that are filled with quality ingredients. This time (and usually), we will get the ginger sesame bowl with BBQ pulled pork and avocado as an extra and the samurai bowl with roasted chicken and mango as an extra. The proportions, once the salad is mixed, of meat to veggie to carb is well balanced. Overall, the sauces are not too heavy and the salad as a whole is not too salty. The portion size is large and densely packed so you will definitely be full. You will end up paying about $20 for a bowl (unless you do not add any protein or other add ons which is not as fun) so it is a bit on the pricier side.

I visited here after my workout and really enjoyed their coconut curry bowl. Initially, I expected a curry broth or soup, but instead, it featured brown rice mixed with coconut curry without soup, topped with various toppings. Even though it did not meet my expectation, it was very delicious, and the portion was generous. I opted for extra protein, adding tofu at an additional cost of $3.5. My husband ordered a winter seasonal menu item, an avocado chicken salad? Sorry I don’t recall the exact name. I will definitely visit here again for the healthy, delicious, and guilt-free food and friendly staff. Also, I loved how many plants they have.

My daughter & I have visited this Seed & Salt location a few times, and were there for brunch today. The food is pricey for what you get, but that’s a topic for another day. Most of the staff are friendly, but the young Asian girl working there needs to be sent on a Customer Service course. She brought our food to our table, we thanked her, but she said absolutely nothing to us. My daughter went up to her at the front counter to politely ask for some hot sauce & utensils. Asian girl mutters, “I’ll bring it out to you”. So she does that, we thanked her again, she still said nothing to us. We finished our meals and as we’re leaving the restaurant, heading out the door, she gives us a dirty look from behind the front counter! Rude. This location was becoming a favourite spot, but we didn’t feel welcome at all today. You can have the best restaurant in the world, but hiring staff with bad attitude, who clearly don’t want to be there & have zero people skills can really cast a dark shadow over a good business....

Saw this business on door dash and thought the dishes looked excellent. Lots of delicious ingredients and a half an avacado on a reasonable bed of greens. Sadly, the salad & bowl I received did not match the expectation created by the pictures.

The dressing for the cobb ($18.25 w/ roast chicken) and the be well ($12.25) were runny and tasted watered down. The greens and lettuce in both orders was overwhelming compared to the amount of other ingredients and definitely didn’t reflect the images on the door dash menu. Finally the menu images showed an ample portion of avocado for each meal. Our dishes both came with a portion that was less than a quarter of a whole avocado. Very disappointing.

EDIT: I’ve adjusted my review to be more constructive and actionable for the business.

I must also note that the owner of this restaurant decided to search out my website and then send me what felt like a passive aggressive message which I find unprofessional...
