Started off with Burrata as an appetizer. Slightly charred bread with butter accompanied by burrata cheese, tomatoes, and greens. The smell of basil hits once it enters your mouth, followed by the bread with a slight charr. The balance between sour and sweet is perfect with the buttery from bread, creaminess of the cheese, sour and sweetness from the balsamic, and ends with the fresh, savory tomatoes. It is a perfect appetizer to start with as it is not too light but not too heavy, not too zesty, nor bland, and raises the expectation for the upcoming main dishes. Then, we were visited by Pappardelle and the Rissotto. Pappardelle fools you with its looks. It looks like a basic, general pasta with meat sauce, but it did not taste generic. Firstly, the sauce was perfectly seasoned and has a strong taste of meat and tomatoes with a lingering hint of heat in the back that's hard to notice but present. The pasta noodles are either freshly made or are just so perfectly cooked that it was amazing. It was chewy but not the undercooked chewy and not mushy due to it being overcooked. The slight spiciness lingering in the back and the perfectly cooked noodle made me fall in love with the dish. Next, the Rissotto. I have never had Rissotto before this encounter. This dish was also perfectly seasoned, and I can tell that fresh ingredients were used in making this dish. The texture, chewiness, and the strong earthy taste of the different types of mushrooms were delicate and joyful. The taste of cheese in every bite was also very enjoyable. Everything harmonized very well together to make a perfect dish for me and my girlfriend. The two dishes were amazing, and we both cleaned the plate. Lastly, we had the Orange olive oil cake. We normally do not have dessert in restaurants, but since the appetizer and the two dishes were so wonderful that we decided to try the dessert. The bread had a grainy texture, somewhat similar to a freshly made corn bread (not overly dry). It was slightly moist and had a hint of olive oil. The ricotta whipped cream was not overly sweet and just sweet enough. It was also topped with plum and drizzle of honey. The bread itself was really tasty, but in combination with each ingredient, it became a fantastic dessert. It was fun trying this dessert with different combinations. Once just the bread, the other with bread and the ricotta whip, and lastly, adding the plum to the previous combination. Long story short, this place was fantastic, and I highly recommend visiting. It may be slightly pricy but worth...
Read moreCalled in advance to book - a voice message said to book on line - online booking showed only three option 4:30,4:45 and 8:30- I wanted to book 6pm for 3 ppl . I left a voice message with my phone number- no response.
So decide to go in person - was told that there is a table but it is reserved for 7:15 and we had to finish by then. Agreed since that was 1:45 minutes away. So we were told again about the 7:15 by the same person then - another person, who became our server for the night again told us the same thing how we have to vacate at 7:15 - even though we confirmed we are aware. It felt unwelcoming .
chairs were uncomfortable . we encountered a very strange exchange - when we said what we want to order the server keep mentions to us that- yes you can share that for three - and it was bizar to us that even though we are ordering individually- instead of assisting us with the actual menus whatever we mentioned any thing he keeps telling that we share in three.
It was very unpleasant that we had to deal this kind of unusual behaviour- on a night out where you just want to enjoy the company and good food now you have to contend with constant remarks about sharing food .
a rushed service - even at the end when we asked for the one bill - he said he would split the bill in three - so have to repeat my self to bring one bill. even when we ordered desert -he said 2 desert and we can share for three. Had to repeat that we want three desert .
The whole experience was unpleasant. And I might add that after we left that table was not occupied by anyone and the restaurant had more than few table that were empty for the duration of our stay and after we left those table were still empty . and the very table we were sitting was also not occupied after we left as we were driving by and was still empty.
Found the whole thing...
Read moreSorella has a very kind complimentary coat check. However it’s not very organized. Unfortunately on Valentines day I checked my Green Midi Cloud Puff. and some other girl apparently also checked in the very same jacket at the same time. When I left the restaurant I had been given the wrong jacket. I wish I zipped up my jacket in the restaurant because I would have realized but it wasn’t until I got home that I saw I got the wrong jacket back. Worst part, it’s a size too small so I can’t even use it. I called the restaurant and they said all they could really do was hope the other person realized and will call back. It’s a 400 dollar jacket that they don’t make anymore, and one of my prized possessions. While I do recognize my negligence plays a role, my jacket was in sorelles possession and they handed me the wrong one. Personally if you’re gonna have a coat check and not have an organized system of keeping track of whose jacket is whose. this is a mistake that is bound to happen. I’ve been searching and trying to find the owner of my jacket. or even trying to find a replica online. but there is just none.
Also I really liked the fries, and pesto pasta. If ur choosing been focaccia and bruschetta. get the bruschetta. the vibe of the place is really nice. the staff are really nice too. and I actually loved the jacket service, not a lot of places do this. I just wish it was more organized bc now I lost my favourite jacket that was worth a lot and am unable to replace it.
I also attached a photo of the jacket I got back. it’s an extra small. mine was a small. so if anyone recognizes this...
