I recently visited "Stacked," a breakfast establishment, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Overall, I found it to be a rather mediocre place with a few noteworthy drawbacks.
To start with, their breakfast cocktail, the Caesar, was disappointingly basic. It was simply served from a can, lacking the creativity and freshness one would expect from a breakfast establishment. It failed to impress me and fell short of my expectations.
Moving on to the main course, I ordered eggs over medium but received them over easy instead. This mix-up was a letdown, as it showcased a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. While it may seem like a minor mistake, it's the little things that can make or break a dining experience.
One of the highlights advertised on the menu was their specialty pancake stacks. However, I found them to be overly sweet. While some may enjoy a sweeter breakfast, I prefer a more balanced flavor profile. The excessive sweetness overwhelmed the dish and made it less enjoyable than anticipated.
Overall, my visit to "Stacked" left me with mixed feelings. It didn't stand out as an exceptional breakfast spot, and the issues I encountered detracted from the overall experience. From the unimpressive breakfast cocktail to the incorrect preparation of my eggs and the overly sweet pancake stacks, it seemed like the establishment missed the mark in several areas.
If you're looking for a breakfast spot that goes above and beyond with their offerings and pays attention to the finer details, I would suggest exploring other options. While "Stacked" may have some redeeming qualities, it ultimately left me wanting more from my...
Read moreWhile Stacked is not exactly close to where I live, I wanted to give them a try because I am always on the lookout for a good breakfast place.
Nothing fancy about the restaurant. The booths are a bit hard and the tables felt just a tad too low. I like a soft booth I can sink into.
Good friendly service. My coffee cup was never empty. Recieved a warm "have a nice day" as I left.
Overall I give them 4 stars. I ordered the Pancake Stack meal. Eggs over easy and crispy bacon. The bacon was cooked perfect to how I like it. Also, it's not that bacon that is so thin it's translucent, it's just on the verge of being thick cut bacon. And the sausages were a nice size and cased. Not those scrawny uncased sausages some places serve (blech). The eggs were done correct to how I ordered them. Over easy, fully cooked whites, runny yolks. How a breakfast restaurant cooks eggs is always the most critical factor in my review of them.
Completely fairly priced breakfast and menu in general. They even have a well priced breakfast special at $6.99.
I deducted 1 star because the bottom of the pancakes was tough. Tough to the point I had to saw with the knife to get through them. This is usually a result of them being held under a warming lamp, or on a warming tray too long. Also, the butter was too chilled and rock hard. I like the butter room temp and spreadable.
They have guest wifi. "Stacked Guest" pw: southtrail (I always feel guity bothering the server for the wifi password - it would be nice to have that posted around the restaurant).
The only reason I probably won't return is that it's a bit far. If I lived closer I would definately be a...
Read moreI recently dined at Stacked Pancake and Breakfast, and while the overall experience was decent, there were a few aspects that could have been improved.
The service was good and we didn’t have to wait long for coffee refills, although it took a bit long to get the check.
I opted for the crêpe Florentine, and my breakfast companion ordered the classic breakfast with pancakes, eggs, sausage, and bacon. He found his meal to be adequate, without any major flaws, but nothing particularly outstanding except the bacon, he absolutely loved the bacon—it was perfectly cooked and had a nice thickness to it.
As for my crêpe, I felt that it could have been cooked a bit longer, although the flavor was good. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of the onion and mushrooms in the dish, particularly the mushrooms, which were a bit watery. I think caramelized onions would have added a nice touch. While the hollandaise sauce was alright, the pico salsa was absolutely amazing and brought a burst of flavor to the dish.
The potatoes or hash browns served alongside the breakfast were cooked well, but they lacked seasoning and didn't have anything particularly special about them.
On the positive side, the prices at Stacked Pancake and Breakfast were reasonable, and the portions were generous. Despite the minor shortcomings, it was a decent value for the money.
While there were some hits and misses with the food at Stacked Pancake and Breakfast, it was an overall satisfactory experience. With a few tweaks to improve the cooking of the crêpe, enhance the seasoning of the potatoes, and possibly consider caramelized onions, the dining experience could be elevated to...
