SEN Vietnamese Kitchen — Restaurant in Calgary

I ordered delivery yesterday @ 7:02pm... via THEIR website: senvietnamesekitchen.ca And as you go through the process it shows you your food total ONLY (+the gst). There is nowhere that it indicates that it's getting delivered via Uber eats or that there will be any additional fees shown. It does mention a $2.49 delivery fee that I was aware of. The order goes through and was then delivered before 8pm Uber eats (which I was surprised to see but thought... ok...) Believing I was being charged the amount of $56.44 shown on their website checkout, I was surprised later when I saw I recieved 2 emails from Uber eats. One @ 7:02pm stating that my order is confirmed (with no total shown) and a 2nd one @ 8:58pm stating that I paid 72.73! Now that 2nd email shows the $2.49 delivery fee I was aware of Plus a service fee of $4.00 As well as an auto-genertated tip of $9.48 Speaking to Sen management got me nowhere as he first said it was all through Uber Eats and I'd have to go through them. So I tried calling them & after choosing the "customer" option & taking all my info, the AI tells me to go online and that they are "no longer accepting calls through this number"....🫤... what? Ok...so I decide to retrace my steps through the same process I went through last night...sure enough...no mention of any extra fees or that Uber is even delivering...I call the manager @ Sen back again. And get nowhere... although he welcomed me to come down & show him what his website actually shows his customer. I said that this basically fraud... which he almost laughed at... good move buddy...So I'll ask you readers of this review. What do you call it when you are charged extra fees after the fact that you were never made aware of while placing your order and your bill is increased by....? (Could be any amount really because you don't know and have no control.... and oh... they aren't responsible tho...) I don't recommend ordering from them online. I've had Sen's food probably 25 times and it's always great quality. Just lacking in accounability when it comes to their online...

Visited this place twice. The first time was very nice. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, and really good food! So I decided to go back tonight and give it another shot.

Everything was fine until the end.

I finished my meal and sat there for a bit. It wasn't long after, that the bill was brought to me by my waitress...along with the debit machine.

The thing is that I had not asked for the bill yet because I wasn't ready to leave, just yet. My girlfriend and I hadn't even finished our drinks! I felt rushed and awkward. It wasn't as if they needed the table either as there were many tables available. My waitress walked away to go chat with some customers she knew and didnt come back! Another server had to finish the transaction. When she finally did come back she noticed the debit machine was not there and walked away without saying a word. Not a " thank you for coming! See you next time!"

Next time? There is no next time. I'm here on a job from out of town, this would have been a nice place to come to if not for the poor...

First time trying this place with my boyfriend and we left feeling with mixed reviews. We are both vegan and realise Vietnamese food is usually a great option for us.. so we thought we'd try SEN. Customer service seemed polite and friendly, but we must of waited what felt like a good 10minutes before we were offered drinks. When we had finally ordered my partners plate came with rice instead of noodles and a waiter kept coming to the table to ask if we had eaten our summer rolls as he'd brought another plate to the table and clearly there was a mix up. The veggies were fresh had a nice bite. For us though my noodle soup was far too salty and for a vegan option we were surprised to find no mushroom or tofu in the dish. Honeslty for us.. less salt in the broth and something a little more substantial such hearty mushrooms or tofu would make us a regular for this dish. Competition between the other vietnamese restaurant at 130th. Please reconsider the veggie menu, vegans enjoy a meal with...
