I have been going here for close to 20 years. They have ( in my opinion) the best karaoke in town. Good food, good prices, friendly atmosphere. Most of the staff are amazing! Except for the day manager, Nichole. She is in the “service industry” but “Customer Service” is a concept that completely eludes her. I walk my dog by the establishment daily. In the summer we sit on the patio, I'll order a beer and some food and usually get my dog a side of bacon. He is well behaved, and just loves hanging out on the patio with me. With my work hours, it is a great way to spend time together. On July 4/25, we were walking by and decided to stop for some dinner and a few beers on the patio. I secured my dog on the patio, then went inside to put in my order. I noticed that the patio speakers were on but were quite loud! They do not have any volume control on the patio. The more patrons that are inside, the louder they have to increase the volume so that the indoor patrons can hear the music. Unfortunately this makes the volume too loud to tolerate on the outdoor patio. The only control that the staff has is to turn off the outdoor speakers.
I ordered my food, beverage and something for my dog, then I politely asked Nichole if she could turn off the speakers on the patio. Since it was only me and my dog, using the patio. I didn't think that it would be a problem.
She flat out denied me this request!
Citing that it was Friday and that she wants to draw people in. There is absolutely no foot traffic to speak of at this location, so who she wants to draw in, is a question in and of itself. What she was really doing was pulling a power trip on me. I was only going to be there for about 1 hour, just long enough for a few beers and some dinner. But Nichole treated me like I was insignificant and I have never felt as disrespected at this establishment as I did on this day. I find it curious how some servers treat a regular customer. I am not a problem customer, I don't get drunk and disorderly, and I tip between 20 and 30%. Anyway I canceled my food order and paid for the beer that she had already opened. I went outside to drink my beer and sit with my dog. While sitting there I decided to check the noise level with a decibel meter app. The Peak Decibel reading was 78db The Average Decibel reading was 72db And these readings were taken from about 20 feet away from the speakers.
Average conversation is between 50db and 60db. So if the music is louder than that, it will make conversation difficult. People will have to yell to communicate.
No wonder I was the only person using the patio, it is not enjoyable when the noise is above 60db.
I returned in the evening to patronize the karaoke and I discovered that Nichole had told the evening staff, that if I returned, they were ordered to deny me, if I made this request to them. The thing is, no other staff member has ever had a problem with this request. Now they will be uncomfortable if I ask them to turn off the noisy speakers on the patio. A $20 passive in-line volume control would be a great addition to the patio speakers.
A couple other notable things regarding this day manager. She treats her job like it is a social event. Several times a day you will see her having extended conversations with her friends around the bar while other patrons are standing in line waiting to order. And if you interrupt her, she will purposely take longer to get to you.
I always ask for water for my dog, she has told me on numerous occasions that there is already water outside. You then look at the water she is referring to, you don't know how long it has been out there for, if someone has put something in it that shouldn't be, etc. etc. One time there was a cigarette butt floating in the water. Bringing fresh water for a dog should not be such a chore for her. You open your patio for dogs, they should be treated like customers also. My dog is a customer, as I always buy something off the...

June 28 - Very disappointing! 3 of us sat at a table, were asked to move to another that was reserved for 7:00pm. 1 of us still eating wings, and the waitress brought our bill and said she'd be back with the machine. Then the owner came over and asked if we could move to another table because the people who reserved the table for 7:00pm were there. I asked what time it was, it was 5:50. No, "sorry for the inconvenience, but, can I move you to another table, buy you a round". Really unfortunate as we loved going there, but I just feel the customer service is not where...
Read moreI’d give 10 stars if I could. I moved into the neighbourhood 4 months ago and decided to walk in tonight for my first time , I should have checked the schedule before I left my place but the owner was nice enough to stay 30 minute past close to cook up my wings and burger for me.
I sat at the bar and had a few beers talking to the bartender. Both of them were very friendly and gave great conversations.
I don’t know of any business owner or employee who would stay late for 1 customer especially these days. I don’t stay late for my clients and I’m a barber I make up some excuse as to why I can’t stay late lol.
