Visited here on Saturday after noticing the balloons outside. Such a welcoming restaurant, which is a rare vibe for a lot of places in Calgary. We met the owner (so kind!) and no server made us feel like they were too busy to assist. Super clean and well organized! We ate: Pub Board- Soft house made pretzel served with aged cheddar beer dip and chorizo. This was insane and the cheddar beer dip was delicious. Really good portion size for price. We had to order some extra bread to finish it.
Mushroom Soup- you could tell this was homemade. One of the best soups I have had! Would come back just for a bowl of it.
Chorizo Burger- This was amazing, good portion size and a lot of meat and cheese included
Tequila Lime Chicken Sandwich- still good, but probably our least favourite of everything we tried. Didn't get a tequila lime taste and the chicken was fresh but the sauce changed the colour of the meat which was a bit off putting. This also had a bit of a strange citrus/acidic taste to it (maybe the mayo or the avocado mash?)
overall 10/10 and we will be back! Highly recommend heading to the bakery in the back for a mason jar...
Read moreI recently visited Yummy Bakery and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. Many of the products I tried seemed like they had been frozen rather than freshly made, which affected the overall quality and taste. From the quality of the pastries, it appeared that the executive chef might lack the experience needed to lead and produce high-quality baked goods, which is essential for a bakery that values freshness and craftsmanship. Additionally, I noticed some professionalism issues with the kitchen staff, which made me question the expertise behind their offerings.
I've also heard concerns about the bakeryâs hiring practices, specifically regarding a lack of cultural diversity in their team. If true, this is disappointing, as fostering a respectful, inclusive environment is essential in today's workplaces. I hope Yummy Bakery considers these areas for improvement to create a better experience for all customers and...
