Let me start off by saying I absolutely love Hankki and have had nothing but delicious experiences at the 17thave and Banff locations. To say that I was so excited to have a location open up in my neighborhood is an understatement. This past weekend I excitedly went to try out the new spot and while it was really cute in the inside and the service was great I have to say that there is no continuity with the food, it was like ordering a completely new dish but wait I’ve ordered this dish many many times at other locations. I always get the Korean fried chicken bucket, this locations version had no breading, was not even a little crispy, was dry and over cooked, and had none of the sticky sweet peanuts that totally make the dish for me. I’m not sure if this is just a learning curve but they have been open for almost a month already and if this is the permanent version of Korean fried chicken than I cannot see this place staying open for very long.
Edit. So we decided to give it one more chance after seeing all the fabulous reviews. We placed an order from our workplace for lunch today and we ordered larges and every container was just over half full. So basically what you would get in a small but we paid more. This location is just not up to par with the other locations. Which is terrible because people might think that is what to expect at all locations. I will be making the drive from now on. I will say the fried chicken was actually battered and crispy this time. Also the floors were so slippery today that my friend and I both almost fell. They were covered in grease...
Read moreThis Hankki falls incredibly short compared to the Hankki in Bow Valley Square. I spent almost $30 and they said they do not offer cups of water. I order from the Bow Valley Square location awesome and have always had excellent experiences. I cannot say the same for this location. After not being able to get a water with my food I then went to sit, and they had half of the location closed off yet there was a line up out the door. So I was asked to tip, not supplied water and then nowhere to sit despite half of the restaurant being empty as they had it closed off. I was super excited that this Hankki had been opened and now am super disappointed and dissatisfied with the way they treat their customers. I will continue to support the Bow Valley Square location however I will never set foot in this location ever again. Lastly this location puts the lettuce between the rice and meat, which is terrible unless you like wilted lettuce. The lettuce and carrots are on top at the Bow Valley location and it makes way more sense that way as the lettuce doesn't wilt as quickly. I won't be back here. Also the Korean Fried chicken isn't coated as much or fried as much as at Bow Valley Square. 3/10 for this location, 10/10 for the...
Read moreWe went to Hankki for the first time yesterday and will be back! It was very busy as they just recently opened and I can see why everyone wants to try it out. :)
Service is excellent! We ordered for take out. After waiting a while, one staff member (I think maybe he was the owner), noticed that we had been waiting and confirmed our order number and verified it was being made and updated us. That is the type of service I appreciate. That even while busy, they noticed someone was waiting and did their best to rectify the situation. I was happy with just that, but he offered us free drinks as well to make it up to us. Great service!
Food is delicious! My husband and I both got the beef bowls (he had his spicy, I had mine not spicy), we gobbled it up! Our two kids both had hot dogs, my son ordered the original and my daughter the one with cheese. Both kids loved them!
Overall, it is reasonably priced, tastes great, and has excellent service. Atmosphere was good, but it was so busy and we were doing take out, so I can't comment too much on that. The resaurant looked clean.
We are looking forward to going back and trying other...
