Thai Express Mahogany Village Commons — Restaurant in Calgary

I usually only get dishes from the mall Thai Express, in which are always top tier. I get the General Thai Pineapple one with chicken. I tried the Shawnessy one and it was aweful, the owner clearly cheaped out on the white meat for the chicken, it’s was brown, disgusting. But this location was amazing, exactly like the mall ones. Very impressed. The staff were sweet, and kind, many thanks to them. Note, I did get my dish after the dinner rush, so that likely helps, also specialty customized order likely throws the cooks off for a loop and compromising things as I’ve read in a few other reviews. To the owner, please don’t ever cheap out on the quality of chicken meat, customers notice. I will be back to this location time...

I just feel terrible when I spend money on restaurant food and it’s worse than I could’ve made at home. Also pricey which I understand but cost should be relative to the food I received. I ordered 6 chicken wings for $10 They were little teeny mini drummettes Cooked nicely but Zero flavour I also ordered a shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce. It had three tiny boiled shrimp and upon opening it it all fell apart and out of the rice paper. I made it into a salad 🤦🏻‍♀️ The place was clean but no toilet paper in the washroom so just lucky I had a used Kleenex in my pocket…. Not looking for anything. Just do better people. We picked up from here for the first time tonight. I got a veggie peanut bowl and husband specifically asked no onions and no mushrooms. It wasn’t until he got home we realized it had both and lots of them! Couldn’t eat my dinner, a total waste of money. They don’t speak any English so not much point in calling to get a refund. Husband said while he was there someone else was trying to order and staff simply couldn’t understand so they walked out. Seems like in order to get orders right and to own a business, some English should be understood/spoken!...
