So I had the pleasure of a true pub steak sandwich on Saturday night. I ordered medium rare center cut with sauteed onions and mushrooms. I recieved exactly what I hoped for and then some . Seasoned and grilled to perfection...tender and juicy served on baked in house bread and fresh in house cut french fries that were seasoned just right. I did not need to add salt and pepper ....all aspects seasoned and ready for me to enjoy. The details were what made this standard fare exceptional. Again... the best steak sandwich I have enjoyed in a very long time. The serving staff were on point with all aspect of service . It was busy but all were very cheerful and polite. From my seat I could actually see into the kitchen and lo and behold the cooks were singing and laughing ....the pass through was full and servers were there to deliver....energy was natural as food was coming out seamlessly. Awesome to see a a professional operation pick up after being forced to sit Congratulations Garrison crew you nailed it. Hockey and golf on the big screens social distance being adhered to by staff and patrons alike Such a pleasure Thank you $20 bucks for a steak sandwich....I recomend it...
Read moreThe Garrison Pub had become a regular watering hole to pass the time while kids played tennis. Love the food ... fried chicken and specials (lasagna, fish & chips, t-bone steak) to name a few delights.
But it is unlikely you will see us back at Garrison Pub. On Friday July 25th we went in and sat at bar like to watch US Mubadala City DC Open tennis tournament like we’d done past few days while kids were in camp at Aforza. Was already on the big screen. Drinks ordered then few minutes later the TV was switched to golf. We asked to switch it back but our server told us a table requested golf. My partner started to argue so I intervened suggesting the third TV with Blair & Barker Pre-Game Show … which is basically two guys bantering about Blue Jays … could be switched. Nope. I said it makes no sense without subtitles. Nope. So I finished my beer. When she asked if I wanted another … just the bill !! Seven TV in the place. We'd have gladly moved but no accommodation for what had been up to that time fairly regular patrons.
But I'd like to thank her ... it is another $500 - $600 in weekly savings. Can sit on our deck and drink their $50 bottle of...
Read moreI was there day before with a friend of mine. I came in shortly after my friend. I was not greeted or asked if I wanted any drink when the waitress came to ask my friend if she wanted anything. She passed by us several times after we were done looking at the menu and were ready to order. We even put the menu as far away from us to show we were ready but she kept passing and serving others. She looked at us few times but did not even acknowledge anything. She served everyone that came after us and walked up to ask asking"did you guys want to order food?" I couldn't believe the question. It was obvious by the way we were trying to get her attention that we were planning on eating. We both ordered our food which is when she asked if I wanted a drink. It was the most unwelcoming service I have ever experienced in my life. The food was great but I will never go back nor will encourage any of my friends to go. I hope she's the only one like that maybe in a year or so I may revisit but for now absolutely not. Having said that ... The food was great but that service actually made me...
