First visit and they have the foundation for success, however if consistent issues aren't negated it will be their detriment.
Started off alright I was happy one server acknowledged me out of 5 at the bar when I walked in. It was very busy. Waited over 45mins for a pizza ..no prob if it had been cooked/warm, it was cold when I got it.
It is waifer thin and not crispy thin...just thin limp and cold. The outter crust has a little warmth, but I'm guessing mine sat on their proofing tray (which is like their waiting tray with no heat lamp) that transfers to the table where they cut it that is also not warm and sits there until someone notices there is a pile up and calls for hands...? Based on never being asked once during eating it or even another beer at being served the pizza when my beer was less than 1/4... it is more you need yo stop and tell ppl or grab someone and demand things rather than be checked in on or offered...so it just kind of killed the vibe for me...
I finally had to ask for an extra napkin and best believe you will get ONE if you don't specify napkinsssss lol
Not until I stacked everything all neatly for them to gather, was I asked if I wanted anything else?? and not even how it was.... I was so hungry and had walked from 17th Ave bc it was insanely too busy. So I ate the cold pizza - After waiting so long for it.
If they could improve steps of service or management improve processes I think they would continue to do well.. the beer was good.. the pizza would be great if it was cooked or even warm (seems reasonable request i hope)
We want to support local but also it has to go both ways.....everyone I think might find things tighter than normal so to spend $30+ for one basic margaritas pizza and a beer it would be nice if we could count on it being warm and delicious... and not seen as a problem. Or have to chase everyone down while...
Read moreI love the food and beers here. it's one of my favorite spots, even after just two visits. The dessert is amazing, and I crave it often. However, the service has been consistently disappointing. Both times I've visited, I felt like a burden. The first time was understandable since it was busy, but we had to wait a long time for attention, on ordering and paying the bill. The second time, at 3 pm on a weekday, the place was quiet, yet we barely got a greeting or any service. Our server ate their lunch in front of us, which, I understand. I've been in the service industry for years and would absolutely do the same if I was hungry in front of customers I have a good relationship with. I'd absolutely excuse this if they were attentive. After ordering, we were ignored. We overheard that our server was sick because they disappeared for a good 30 minutes, but still, multiple staff members walked by without acknowledging us or taking the empty stack of plates and empty beer glasses away. The food was so good we really wanted to add more to-go because I was too full for the dessert. We ended up leaving without ordering to-go items because we couldn't get any attention. Our server had disappeared the entire time and did not even acknowledge us when they walked back and forth to get water. We had to ask another server for the tab while the others were gathered around the till, and after we paid they were all looking at the receipt. We very rarely tip badly, but the service just was not deserving and it hurts to say that. It’s frustrating because the food is fantastic, but the service needs a LOT of improvement. I’ll probably just order online from now on. :/
Long story short: Positives: Delicious food! Negatives:...
Read moreWe have loved Two House since the beginning(old and new locations) and have frequented often- celebrated birthdays, watched our family member perform live music, brought our young children in as breweries are forgiving to us parents who just want to have a fun time. This past experience was different, some of the staff were just plain rude. My two year old went on a running spree a few times and went behind their bar, dangerous and not allowed, we understand and grabbed him to stop him. The manager came up to us and scolded me like I was the two year and embarrassed me in front of my group which we apologized for and told him we understood. Afterwards the Acme staff and some* of the servers continued to glare at me as “that mother”. As someone who worked in the service/restaurant business for over a decade, it just seemed incredibly off putting and my table of friends agreed it was handled poorly. Regardless, we played our board games, drank our beer and tipped 25% for troubling them, not sure we’ll come back for a bit as the boy with the blonde curls almost got us bounced. Truly love most of the staff but glaring at patrons...
