Viet Thai Bistro — Restaurant in Calgary

I googled Thai food and found this place since I was in the area. I love treating myself to Thai food and I’m glad I came here! I ordered green curry, cashew chicken like I always do - this gives me a good comparison to other Thai places I’ve eaten at. I got the coconut rice also and a side of extra steamed vegetables because I like a lot of vegetables. I spent over $35 and received a promotional dish - Shanghai noodles… and everything I tried was so flavourful and rich and satisfying that I will absolutely be back to order more! The owners are extremely generous to offer a whole dish complimentary for spending a certain amount, and I can tell you this is a business I would want to support with the level of quality and love put into their food and the surprising generosity that made me feel like a valued customer. It touched me so much I even got emotional. I highly recommend this place! They even have a few unique, ethnic items available for purchase in their mini market which I thought was very quaint. where to begin... the food has always been mediocre but i would still go there just because it's so close to my house. I went in the other day and had to stand in front of the counter for 15 minutes just to place my order because they had thought i was already waiting for an order. Once i placed my order i was there for one hour waiting waiting and i didnt even get an update on how my order was going. the staff is not only careless but clueless as well. frustrated I told them that i simply wanted my money back and they did not seem to care. I saw at least another 3 people walk out that day. One of the worse customer service experiences I have had. Pretty well the worst Vietnamese food I’ve had to date. First I I ordered take out and requested hoisin and hot sauce. I didn’t receive it when I called and asked why as it stated if not available to contact me(why have this as an option if you don’t plan contacting?) the lady it was a dollar each? Uummm excuse me? I asked if she said bottles of these sauces (that complete the damn meal) were on tables ? of course they yet you want to charge me $1 each? On an already way overpriced meal?
