Western Pizza Express — Restaurant in Calgary

I have never edited a review before and I have edited this one twice. I just wanted to mention that they called back and offered to make it right which I appreciate the gesture. Customer service was good even if pizza wasn’t what I expected…pizza was still above average just not the same calibre as the first time. I will order again next time I come through Calgary and 1 out of 2 is still .500 in baseball.

Second Review I was in Calgary a month ago and wrote the below review with a 5 star rating. It was amazing REGINA style. When my families international flight was rescheduled to come through Calgary my first thought was I could show my family real pizza in Alberta. Ordered as we boarding our flight.

I was so excited but you can imagine my disappointment when I got my pizza which was nothing like the previous order. This was Alberta pizza with no toppings. I paid for extra cheese and it was a small sprinkling. If I hadn’t had the real deal a month ago I wouldn’t be so disappointed as it it got my hopes up that Regina pizza was available. Whoever was working in January needs to teach whoever was there tonight what Western Pizza is supposed to be.

Growing up in Regina, we have had a lot of Western Pizza over the years and always loved their unique take. We were so excited when this new location finally opened near us. But the pizza we got was nothing like that. It was short on toppings and lacked the same iconic taste we grew up loving. But the worst part about it was the price was ridiculously high. I was willing to pay it to try it out, hoping to get the same pizza our family loved for years but when they didn’t come through, I decided that was the last time I’d order from there. We are from out of town and was recommended Pizza from Western Express. The pizza was probably one of the worst we have had in a long time. We ordered 2 pizza's 3 different toppings on each. There was hardly any of the toppings on them and what was there you would be hard pressed to recognize them. There was minimum sauce which made both pizza's dry. The cheese should have been combo of white and brown texture, but they were dark crusty brown which I think was cheese. The one star was for the crust. It was ok. As a Business owner of 44 years quality of your products makes or breaks a Business. I have always given any Business 3 tries to compare, unfortunately we are not from here to try...
