As the owner of Women Talk, I've been hosting events at YYC Pasta Bar, both at their Kensington location throughout 2023 and recently at their Douglasdale location on January 8, 2024. Our events have been held in their private dining rooms, which have consistently offered an exceptional experience, meriting my highest recommendation. The private dining rooms at YYC Pasta Bar, whether in Kensington or Douglasdale, provide the perfect blend of intimacy and elegance essential for the success of our gatherings. The ambiance in these secluded spaces is just right, offering a comfortable and engaging environment for our guests. What stands out at YYC Pasta Bar, irrespective of the location, is the extraordinary service. NOT GLUTEN FREE - Celiac Awareness This place has Gluten Free options - Please be aware! I should have known better, and I take full responsibility for my choice on the restaurant choice. I have Celiac Disease and am highly allergic to Gluten. I called YYC Pasta Bar in Douglas Dale and they informed me over the phone that they offer Gluten Free items on their menu, which they do. I enjoyed my meal and ordered there Gluten Free Gnocchin which was outstanding and thought to myself this is too good to be true. The waitress made note of my allergy and confirmed that the pasta would be Gluten Free.

After dinner and on the way home I fell very ill, to the point where I couldn't move, the pain was so intense that my husband wanted to take me to the hospital. It takes about 24-49 hours for a Gluten attack to go away.

I am only writing this post to warn others who have a Gluten allergy to be careful, so you don't experience the immense pain that I had and still have.

Other than my meal not being safe when I was told it was, I sadly won't be back. This was my first time going to this restaurant and it will be my last. I love GF pasta and I was hoping for Gluten Free Gnocchin. Just want to make other people with Celiac Disease aware, and I should have known better to not enter a Gluten filled restaurant.

From the get go “YYC Pasta Bar”, at Douglas Glen, Calgary Alberta was perfection. Their communication (Sebastian) prior to our event for 14 adults, 4 children (4 yrs old and under) was near perfect. I was texted details several times leading up to the day which was amazing communication in todays world and they me sent pictures of the cake I ordered (so good) so I could see it the day of the event which was amazing and it tasted sooo good. The gathering was for my wife’s surprise 61 birthday and Nadine our sever/supervisor/manager took care of every body that came in early before we arrived. My group was texting me saying how great Nadine was before we arrived! Fabulous!! The surprise came off without a hitch which was amazing (I’m not a planner) and the area the retaurant team delegated for us was near perfect accommodation for all of us and the children could walk easily between tables and not bother other patrons. I can’t say enough about Nadine, she took care of all of us and was on cue at all times. High fives to Nadine!! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I have seldom done this and that’s just how impressed I was with this whole team along with the wine and the food was so tasty and even better the price was very reasonable.
