A&W Canada — Restaurant in Cambridge

I went to the drive thru last night around 11pm. Before placing the order the crew did let me know that it's going to be a 15 minute wait to prepare the food and they will take my order shortly. I wait for 10 minutes before my order is taken. I had ordered a Spicy Piri piri veggie combo, with some customization to the sandwich. After 15 minutes of waiting I got my food and headed home just to realize later on that the sandwich was made regular with no customization which I had asked for. I tried calling the store 6 times out of which 5 times nobody answered and once the call was picked and they hung up. So I had to drive back to the store again and I let them know at the speaker about the issue. The girl at the window was very rude about the whole scenario. She handed me my sandwich and shut the window close and i still waited there because it had been almost 30 minutes since i received my food at first place and now that my fries were also cold. I asked her if she could replace the fries since they were cold and instead of apologizing even once for this inconvenience the girl just started arguing and later on after another 5-7 minute delay give me a bag of fries.

Long story short, this was the worst experience i have had so far at a fast food restaurant, usually if there is an issue due to the negligence on part of the store, the store does try to fix the issue and make up for the inconvenience but here the crew person was not even apologetic about the issue and did not handle the situation professionally.

I hope you guys look into it and talk to the concerned crew person because this is not good for business and gives a bad experience to...

As a family, we eat at this A&W quite often, as it is close to home.

Unfortunately, despite many positive experiences visiting this location, I am motivated to write this review as a result of a very negative one.

Upon arriving around 8pm Sunday October 24/2021, I was pleased to find the drive thru empty. I ordered food for my family, drove to the window, and paid my bill as usual.

I was then asked to park my car in front of the restaurant, presumably to allow other customers to order and pay as well.

No problem, all very normal.

As I watched the staff inside socializing, five, then ten minutes passed as cars began to line up behind me.

I had to pull forward to make room.

Finally, after at least fifteen minutes of waiting, my order was brought out to my car, 3 sandwiches, one order of fries, and a poutine.

After all of the waiting, I have never waited so long here, I expected that the wait was due to them making my order fresh, so I did not complain.

When we opened the order to eat however, it was clear the burgers were not fresh. In fact, they appeared to be patties cooked hours before, and put on buns with excess condiments to cover them.

The fries were normal, but cold, and the poutine was cold with cheese that was far from melted by hot gravy. Also, it was half the normal portion.

It was clear the restaurant was being operated by teens with little to no supervision tonight.

As much as we love A&W, we will probably just go down the street to Wendy's from now on, to avoid this type...

My grandkids and I were picking up lunch on Friday May 31 to take to my mom who is in long term care. It was a PD day and 11 am. I was thinking all the food would have been fresh but I was wrong. The 2 orders of chicken strips were hit and delicious. The french fries were lukewarm and soft not very crispy and the Mama burger was horrid!!! The bottom bun was rock hard...very stale...and the top bun was dried out but not as stale as the bottom bun. The meat patty was well done...over well. I tried to eat the burger but after the first bite I had to throw it out. Seriously it had to have been made the day before, it was disgusting. If I wasn't visiting my mother with my grandkids I would have returned the burger to you so you could see it for yourself. Disgusting.

I gave you 5 stars for service for the lady who took the order and worked the drive thru NOT for the cooking that...
