I don't eat fast food often, but worked late and knew that dinner was going to take a bit to cook so fast sounded good. I love me some Harvey's too and I've been here before. The staff at the drive through was always very friendly and service was good along with the food.
This time, I was asked to pull into a spot out of the drive through 'for a couple minutes while they are waiting on the patties'. I entered the restaurant 35 minutes later to see if they even started my order otherwise give me my money back. There were many people waiting more than 30 minutes as well being told that the person on the grill was new. They tried to find my order and had trouble. Then found a bag and said this was it and the guy bringing it out couldn't find my car. I pointed at it through the window directly in front, spot #2, with my license plate visible and he responded, 'ya he's new, sorry'. I asked how long it had been sitting there and he said it was fresh as he just came in, which was a lie because I was keeping my eye on the door and my car and no one approached it, unless they went to another parking lot out a back door.
Anyway, took the food home and it was not great. Soggy burgers, cold fries. Plus my frings were missing the onion rings!
It was obvious it was 30 plus minutes to receive your order, I said you should probably tell people that when they order so they have a choice. Instead they take payment and advise to pull up for 2 minutes and leave you wondering what's going on 20, 30, 40 minutes later. The response from the manager was 'We are telling people that for the Swiss Chalet food'. Not sure what I'm supposed to do with that information, but clearly my opinion didn't make a difference.
I'll still eat Harvey's, just never returning to this location. When people lie this much, not sure I trust them handling my food. Next time just be...
Read moreWorst Harvey's location ever. I have frequented this location several times over the last 6 years and every time I go I question why I went there in the first place. First off, let me say I love Harvey's as a brand and have visited many other locations in my lifetime with no complaints. This Dundas St location in Cambridge however is the worst run fast food joint I have ever stepped into... ever! No matter if you choose the drive thru, or dine in you will be waiting ... and waiting.. to place your order and to be served. It doesn't matter what time of day you are there, they are always moving at a snails pace. They are not under staffed so there is no reason for this sort of service. It seems as if there is no management on site, and if so, they clearly have low standards. Once you finally get your order it isn't even fresh which really makes me question what on earth have I been waiting for? Also, I recently ordered at the drive thru and there was no one in line behind me or in front of me. My order was simple - an original burger combo and I was asked to pull aside as it was going to take a while to prepare. THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME , why am I being told to park and wait ?! If there is a line up of cars, sure - no problem. No common sense or service at this location. I will not be returning. Luckily there are a lot of other fast food choices in the area when I need to grab something to...
Read more2 stars only because the fries were piping hot & I was treated to a comedy show. Crew on this evening should not be staffed together! Tough to watch. Zero chemistry. No comptent leader. ICP Bro in the back ignored the soft-spoken chick after she requested the forgotten fries... after already waiting for 15 minutes already for just the burger. 9pm & they were obviously already closing both stations (1 closed cause low volume) while talking about it in front of customers waiting excessive times for food. When asked about cucumbers, I was met with "yes, we have them... but I'll have to get them from the fridge." Ya, and...? If you didnt start closing too early you'd be good. Based on the vibe of the staff (y'all schedule the hood rats together at once?) & state of the place, I figured it was wise to politely decline the strenuous cucumber expedition (drink station so nasty it gets a special mention.) Are y'all paying them enough? Is there something from management that's made them want to revolt? No greeting or attempt to take a timely order. They would make eye contact but turn around to pretend to be busy.. I think maybe they were all baked & too scared to do counter? Waiting for the 1 chick that wasn't high to take it? (I remember those days!) It's the only logical reason for such a disaster... they had to have just smoked the cart in the walk in. That was wild & painfully comedic...
