Melville Café — Restaurant in Cambridge

Just had a terrible experience at Melville cafe. I'm an architecture student so I work just above the restaurant. I've been going there for years and I haven't had any problems in the past. But today I was very disappointed when I went in just before they closed to buy a piece of banana bread. They said they closed the machine so I offered to pay in cash. Then the waitress told me no they couldn't do that and told me to get out very rudely and with a lot of attitude. So I said okay, but I'll write a comment card because I felt like I was badly treated. To make matters worse, later this evening I found the comment card ripped up on my desk in studio. This means that not only did they not accept my feedback but they followed me to my desk upstairs (which is a locked area and only meant for architecture students) and waited till I was gone to place it on my desk. I feel very unsafe, frustrated and extremely disappointed. This should be a warning to other architecture students and ...

I came to Melville Cafe because of the trending downturn of service at Coffee Cultures Cafe down the street. I walk downtown almost daily and like to get something to eat. The service, menu, food and atmosphere blows Coffee Cultures Cafe away! I was very impressed. I ordered a sandwich and drink and had no problem waiting at the counter while it was made. The woman asked me to have a seat and she would delivery the food to my table. I told her I wanted to sit outside. She said, no problem at all, I'll come find you. The person who cashed me out and the woman who made my sandwich and delivered it were pleasant, friendly, polite and smiled. I know where I'll be going from now on. Thank you for the amazing service.
