Harvey's — Restaurant in Carleton Place

Stopped here on our way home from work… food was as expected. The staff (a petite blond in particular) made for an awful experience. While we waited for her colleague to prepare our meals, she stood at the front eating while loudly complaining how she wanted to go home. After we sat down to eat, the same staff continued to yell rudely at her colleagues “I said fries! You have one job and you can’t do it!” To another customer she made a comment about her other co-worker “he takes the order and walks away” and said something to the effect that he didn’t know how to do his job. This and another staff left (presumably for a break) and it quieted down. After several minutes, the two returned and immediately the first started again at her colleagues “no cheese! She didn’t pay for it!” Right in front of the customer waiting for their meal. I can appreciate having a bad day but this level of unprofessional behaviour was outright embarrassing and condescending towards the crew. I would have asked to speak with a manager to make my concerns known however I’m sure I heard her say at one point that she was the boss and didn’t want to engage with her in the least. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The customer service is absolutely horrible. For example, my friends and I went in one evening, well before close, to walk out after the cashier refused to serve us. To start things off she complained to the lady in front of us, the only other costumer in the building, that she "just wanted a 5 minute break." Then sighed when it came to our order and rotisserie chicken was ordered, before and after having to make sure there was any. When a condiment was ask to not be placed on the order she rolled her eyes so then the order was then changed to a more "accommodating" order. Thought this place was about making your order exactly how you want it? The best part of this interaction was when the employee was called out on her demeaning actions and gestures she then stated "you should work here and then you'd know" and this lady was well into her 40-50's. I've got to say I used to go to this Harvey's a lot with my father as a kid. And the food compared then to now is DISGUSTING. I'm not sure how your allowing children to be preparing food like this, and the socialising is a serious issue. I should be able to wait for my food with my kid without watching a brown haired 20 something y/o making phone calls behind the counter when he should be taking peoples orders. When trying to get his attention for an extra fork he clearly makes eye contact and ignores me. The food was shoved towards me in a rude manner and the fries were half cold and the crispy chicken wasn't even that crispy. When choosing to dine in I don't want my kid pointing out ADULTS KISSING and me seeing them practically grinding. This is seriously unprofessional, I strongly suggest not putting couples on the floor together. This is all seriously unprofessional behaviour. I won't be coming back with my kid...
