I know they are still on their early stages of opening so they are still quite busy and I know what it’s like as someone who worked in the food industry service at one point in life. I came here to order take out roughly before noon for a quick bite before I had to head to an appointment which was at noon that I couldn’t be late for, so I decided to come here early thinking I’ll get my food in a timely manner, but this is when my frustration started.. Having to wait at least 20-30 mins for one panini order for take out while seeing at least 4-5 ppl behind me who ordered after me get their orders before I did just seemed bizarre to me.. It was 11:50am at this point and I still haven’t gotten my order, so I asked the lady who helped me with my order if my order was ready, it didn’t seem like she really communicated with the workers who were in charge of making the panini’s and told me they were still making it in the kitchen.. But i never ordered anything from the kitchen?? So i waited another 3 mins which was 11:53 at this point. No one was making my panini so I physically walked over to the panini making area to ask the workers if they were making my order. Idk what happened, but it just seemed like they either completely forgot my order or didn’t bother to check. It was super frustrating honestly. They did apologize and try to offer something to me on the house, but at that point I had like 5 mins to make it to my appt
which was 2 mins away and thankfully made on time. But i don’t think waiting at least 20-30 mins for an order is acceptable
I hope they take this review into consideration, and improve on their system. In terms of food it was good. Not surprised since it’s the same owners as Uccellino...

Me and my boyfriend stopped by Va Sunday morning because we always happen to pass by it down Jasper Ave! We ordered two coffee’s and two sandwiches. For sandwiches we got the genovese and the porchetta and for drinks we got the caffe late with oat milk and their home made vanilla which was amazing and the schiaffo slap definitely has a preferred taste for it. It had a thick layer of cream and a coffee tonic base. We had high expectations coming in because of the amount of TikTok videos and high reviews but our expectations were led other wise. The genovese had generous amount of toppings however the sauce over powered the bread / panini in which when we opened our sandwhich the bread was soaked and mushy. For the porchetta , the bread was toasty and crunchy but the pork belly was super salty , the salsa verde and rossa over powered the pork belly and over all tasted like a salty sandwich. I was super excited to see pork belly on a sandwich but was given tough meat. We over all spent $70 and felt like it was not worth the purchase.

We would definitely return again but we feel like we would consider other options such...

Today was my second visit at VA and everything was INCREDIBLE once again!

My mom had the meatball panini and the funghi pizza, both which are soo good - the foccacia is absolutely perfect! I ordered the cacio e pepe panini and it was probably one of my favourite menu items I have tried so far! The crunch of the veggies, creaminess of the pecorino crema and bite from the abundance of black pepper is a to die for combo. Now
to talk about the two treats I also had today
the Maritozzo is one of (if not the) best desserts I have ever had
. Brioche, pistachio and mascarpone crema
SO freakin GOOD The strawberry granita and whipped cream was sooo refreshing on a hot day like today, I could honestly have one every day in the summer. A must try!

Everything came out super fast while still delivery excellent quality.

The staff is super welcoming, knowledgeable and great at recommendations on food and beverages :) You can tell this place is going to be super successful! I will definitely be going back to VA on a frequent basis to enjoy all it...

Came here after seeing some posts on social media where sandwiches looked really good and was not disappointed. The food was pretty tasty and looked beautiful, everything felt quite fresh but it is quite pricey given that they are just sandwiches with no sides or drink, but I would say definitely worth a try. The atmosphere was nice, but the seating area is quite tight, so it might be hard to come here with a larger group of people. The service was okay and food came pretty quick, some of the staff were a bit unfriendly but ultimately didn’t really affect my experience too much. There is also little to no signage and ended up being a bit difficult for my party to find since we’re not familiar with the area so if you’re heading down you’ll just have to really keep an eye out on the map and the door.

V,A—or “vah” . . . however you want to say it—is the final piece for me in the reviewing trifecta of goodness and coolness that DeCosta has brought to this neighbourhood. I half-expected an overpriced cafĂ©, but NO—this place delivers. Breakfast, lunch, and everything in between, and the quality is right up there with the other two spots. We had the potato pizza (really, really good) and a cheese-and-greens and egg brekkie sammitch combo on a brioche-style bun that totally hit the mark. Add in coffee and juice, and we were on our way. Another solid addition from DeCosta— clearly shows why he leads in the hospitality space in Edmonton.

Va is a vibrant Roman-inspired cafĂ© that nails casual Euro-chic charm on Jasper Avenue. Their pizza al taglio—from the earthy Potato & Pancetta with a bright touch of lemon to the creamy Rosso & Burrata—is excellent, with just the right amount of char on a crisp crustïżŒ. The cafĂ© feels fresh yet nostalgic, flooded with retro details—from green-and-white tiles to stacks of Italian cookbooks and vinyl records. The espresso and Italian sodas are spot on, and even when busy, the vibe stays welcoming and trendyïżŒ. Whether it’s for a quick bite or a stylish lunch, Va delivers in flavor and flair.
