We were avoiding the crowds of people on the main street in Elora and happened to find this wonderful little place. We splurged and got the Halibut and Chips (comes w tartar sauce and coleslaw) and it was worth every penny!!! Crispy light batter and tender flaky fish cooked perfectly and served on a bed of chunky fries. One of the best fish&chips I've ever had! It was a beautiful day so we ate at the little counter outside and the chef came out to chat and ask how we enjoyed our meal. It's a tiny place so I think it was takeout only. The perfect meal for a picnic along the river. We asked the guys in the shop for advice on a quiet place for us to have a dip in the river and they directed us to the little Aboyne Trail just down the road, across from the museum. What a wonderful afternoon! Thanks guys! We'll be back!

Stopped by Something Fishee in Elora and tried their fish and chips. The fish was very tasty with a nice crisp batter, and the fries were fresh, thick-cut, and had that homemade feel. While the flavour was great, the fish was a bit too oily for my liking. Still, it didn’t take away from the fact that it was enjoyable overall. The portion size of both the fish and fries felt a bit small considering the price, which might leave bigger appetites wanting more. The restaurant itself is quite small with limited seating, so it’s not ideal if you’re coming with a larger group. Parking is also tight, so be prepared for a bit of a squeeze. Overall, the food hits the spot taste-wise, but a few improvements in portion size and oiliness would go a long way.

We always look for authentic fish n chips when we are visiting north. This place is amazing little fish n chips. Family owen and operated. The owner is an amazing guy. The portions are amazingly big. We sit outside by the patio and the owner came to check on us if everything was good. I mean who does this nowadays. My kids loved the food and the patio. I definitely recommend this place. You can hardly find places like this unfortunately. We have to support our own local business and special places like this. Which is authentic and reminds me of old Canada. So if you are in the area, you must visit it. I used must because I know you, family, and friends would enjoy it a lot. God bless✌️

Finally getting around to leaving a review as I stopped by earlier this year during the summertime with my son. Five stars just for the customer service alone as anyone with a toddler can attest that they can be difficult at times. I ordered a poutine to share with my son to eat on the patio when he started crying because there was gravy on his fries (obviously, it’s a poutine). Due to my son’s crying, the woman whom I’m assuming is the shop owner came outside to see if there was anything that she could do to make him feel better and offered him a sea animal eraser in which he gladly accepted. I told the woman thank you and that he was just being a typical toddler and crying because he didn’t want gravy on his fries and she offered to make him some without gravy - free of charge. Once the fries came out, they were quite hot since they were fresh and my son started crying again as he couldn’t eat them right away as to not burn himself. The woman offered to put the fries in the fridge to help cool them off faster for him and was just overall amazing towards my toddler terror. None of the things that this woman did for us was necessary or expected but it was greatly appreciated. I wish I could comment more on the quality of the food but it was just the poutine (which I enjoyed) that I had ordered as it was only supposed to be a quick stop. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll be sure to order more food and leave a nice tip as a thank you but hopefully for now a five-star...

I've been coming to Somthin' Fishee in Elora for more than 7 years. The food has always been excellent and the service perfect.

That, however, wasn't the case when I went in a few weeks ago. As always I phoned in so my order would be ready for pickup when I arrived. There were 2 people I hadn't seen before behind the counter. I assume they are a married couple as he referred to her as the wife. I don't know if they are new employees or if they are new owners.

It took almost 10 minutes before one of them acknowledged my presence. Not only that, in the past, all orders came with coleslaw and tartar sauce, but not this time. Unfortunately, I didn't notice these items were missing until I got home and opened the bag. Yes, they were busy, but that does not justify keeping a customer waiting that long, even more so when the order should already be ready, so it would be a quick transaction.

Very...
