I am deeply disappointed with the experience my partner and I had at Brickhouse, where we chose to host our wedding dinner. Despite having our reservation confirmed, the quality of service deteriorated significantly leading up to and during our event. From the outset, we had to constantly remind them of basic needs, which made us feel neglected and undervalued as customers. What truly compounded our disappointment was the rude and dismissive attitude we encountered whenever we made even the smallest request and were called names upon. On what was meant to be the happiest day of our lives, we were subjected to treatment that left us feeling terrible and disrespected. It seemed evident that the staff were intentionally dismissive, and the manner in which they interacted with us gave the impression of racial bias, which is completely unacceptable.
Moreover, the manager's behaviour towards members of our family was utterly disrespectful and out of line. Instead of ensuring that our party was accommodated properly, they made us feel unwelcome and inconvenienced. As a result, we were unable to fully enjoy our celebration, as we were preoccupied with addressing the inadequate service and disrespectful treatment we received. It is evident that Brickhouse restaurant took advantage of our vulnerability, both financially and emotionally, knowing that we would be hesitant to cause a scene on such an important occasion. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and basic decency is appalling, and I would strongly advise against anyone considering this establishment for any event. Our experience was marred by incompetence, rudeness, and a lack of professionalism, and it is clear that Brickhouse restaurant has a long way to go in terms of improving their standards of service and...
Read moreWe visited The Brickhouse this friday. We sat outside. Our server, brown hair, can't remember her name but she was so nice. We got the mussels with white wine and garlic, and the roasted asparagus. I would definitely recommend both. We finished with a chocolate espresso cake, and a white velvet bourbon night cap, that paired so well.
We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to make a reservation the next night to visit with family. We sat inside this time, great atmosphere.. and great lighting for photos if that's your thing. Our waitress, Shanika, I think was her name. So amazing, always making sure waters were full and we were happy. We started with the Muhammara a roasted red pepper dip, the perfect amount of chips/naan to go with the dip. For entrees the table got, the mac and cheese, loaded fries, and the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, everyone was very happy. I got the Lobster rigatoni, it was fabulous! I had a chat with who I believe to be the manager, Emily, the day before. I mentioned my position at a bar back where I'm from, and she took the time to bring me a drink from a secret menu for me to try. It had almond, pineapple and coconut. Delicious! Wish I got the recipe myself!
Overall an excellent dinning experience. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a satisfying meal and great service.
10/10 Will be back my next visit to the...
Read moreI didn't think to grab any photos, but this place is gorgeous and has a fantastic menu. Highly recommended.
We started the night with the the zucchini garlic fingers, calamari, and duck confit sliders. Alongside some of their house cocktails, these shareable dishes were delicious.
Moving on into mains we had the hamburger (substituting normal fries for the garlic & parmesan frites - a move I'd highly recommend) and the sweet potato gnocchi. A couple of pints of blueberry ale helped wash it all down.
Finally, we splurged and got dessert. Initially, disappointment set in at the lack of chocolate options. It's a short menu. However, we decided to gamble a bit by going with the ice cream cake and WOW what a payoff. This ain't your mama's triangular wedge of ice cream cake. It's almost like a log cake, but it is a gourmet (and VERY shareable, given the size) work of ice cream art. Topped with Skor bits, layered throughout with chocolate and other crunchy, delicious ingredients, this was perhaps the highlight of the night. Our server said it best when she commented that it could be a hard sell at times based on the name alone, but the ice cream cake is a sleeper hit on that menu.
The service was fantastic, MJ was a treat and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Next time, I'll bring an extra thousand bucks and take home the painting of Zooey...
