Leonhard's — Restaurant in Charlottetown

My wife and I go here for breakfast dates on a relatively frequent basis.

We love the staff, the vibe, and the food. Seldom do we leave with a single complaint.

That being said, the last two times we have visited, we’ve noticed that our usual order continues to shrink in portion size. We always both order a hot caramel latte, and the ham eggs Benedict with hashbrowns. And we usually get a slice of vanilla loaf to share before we leave. We have eaten this exact dish so many times I can’t even count! Which is a testament to how much we love the place

However, the last two times we have been, we have resorted to ordering a side of hashbrowns with our dishes as the hash brown portion has shrunken to what is basically a quarter of its original size per dish. Thinking we were doing ourselves a favor by ordering a side of hashbrowns in order to make up for the smaller portions on the main dish. We were disappointed the last two times to find that this side dish was the equivalent of what one main dish used to have for hashbrowns as a serving size. It just seems like every time we go the portion size is smaller and we pay the same amount. We also got a slice of vanilla loaf to go this time as we had somewhere to be and when we got home to enjoy it together, it was significantly smaller than the usual portion size.

I just find it unfortunate when the prices stay the same and the portion sizes continuously get smaller. I know this isn’t a localized issue to this particular establishment. It seems to be going on in many places. I just wanted to share this as a general feedback. We still love the place and love our hashbrowns, we just want what we used to get for the same...

Disappointing service. We were waiting for about 10 mins and when we moved forward to sit down at the waiting chair, the moment we moved forward to wait, they served the couple behind us and ignored us. We stood there and felt like we were invisible, no one working there was acknowledge us standing there waiting for a the whole 10 mins and but the moment we moved spots and the couple behind us was visible to them, those customers were immediately acknowledged and was asked if they wanted a table for two and got sat down while we we're still obviously waiting. We obviously looked confused wondering why they were got a table first and all the waiter did was glance at us and asked "table for two?". We would've really appreciated if someone has just let us know that someone will be with us shortly or atleast a "hello" or "welcome" or let us know why the people behind us got a table first even though we have been waiting before them. I could understand that it was a busy day, or if the couple had reservations before and I don't wait to assume or accuse anyone of anything but at that moment we felt like we were experiencing discrimination or racism (I am asian and my friend is black, the couple behind us was white, the waiters were also mostly white). We walked out after waiting for another few minutes. We came to Leonhard's a few times before and really enjoyed their food and the owner's hospitality. I don't know what today was but it really left a bad impression of Leonhard's on us and we will not likely...
