UPDATE: 02/10/2023
I heard from the owner today. We received a gift card reimbursing for the bread plus extra $ for our next visit to Benanna Bakery. Because we loved the sweet baked products and Travis took the time to get in touch, I have changed my star rating and also removed my pictures to be fair. Hopefully the issue wonât occur again. We will give Benanna breads another try in the future months.
UPDATE: 02/07/2023
Received an email from Travis, owner? Apologizing and said this was not baked correctly etc and he would forward a credit/ gift card? Or give me a loaf for free for my next visit. I forwarded my email to him and cell but well over a week now and he has not responded nor sent anything via text or email to make me a return customerâŚ.yet.
Out for a drive from Mission on Saturday. In search of a European bakery with good artisan or grains bread we found Benanna Bakery. Let me first say that the staff was pleasant and patients with my husbands many questions. The sweet baked products are amazing! I.e. Elclair with whip, danish with custard, the strawberry mousse tart, savoury croissant and the almond croissant all a great. The Breads: we chose the dark German rye as we love this type of heavier bread with cheeses. Not opposed to paying the $8 per loaf but the product imo should be perfectly baked. Please see photo and tell me if looks looks right? Completely cracked throughout the middle (under mixed plus raw !! See Pictures) ) I was so excited to have this with our evening snack and totally disappointed instead. We also bought a sourdough loaf and although baked through it has so many large holes that it made me wonder about the quality control of the baker at this place. Needless to say we wonât buy bread here again but maybe the...
Read moreI moved to Chilliwack 4 years ago and have been a loyal customer of Benanna Bakery since. The products itself are great, however due to the lack of customer service and respect I will not be returning. I purchased a salted caramel mouse a couple times and there was no nuts inside. The other day I picked up one, and there was full chunks of nuts inside. This isnât my primary issue- however when I messaged Benanna Bakery on Instagram to ask if there was always nuts because last time I bought it there 100% wasnât, their reply was extremely rude and careless. Maybe Iâm allergic? Thereâs no use of the word ânutsâ in the label for this product or the description and they didnât tell me either. I didnât expect full chunks in a mouse product. Things happen, but how this company treated me over it was extremely rude. I replied to them on social media and suggested maybe they should change the label to let people know whatâs actually inside and they read it immediately and didnât reply back to me. Thatâs all it takes in these days to lose a loyal customer and I will not ever recommend them anymore and will continue to share my experience of being ignored from asking an honest question. Shopping at a bakery is becoming a luxury in these expensive times, and Iâm definitely not going to shop at one that has such a lack of customer service. It doesnât take much to say â sorry, it does have nuts I should change the sign, youâre rightâ Itâs pretty pathetic to go live on social and beg for customers to come clean out the shelves because you over baked or whatever and then have no decency to simply have a conversation on Instagram when someone is concerned about something. Will be taking my business to Cabin Fever Junction....
Read moreI went there a couple of months ago; it had been about a year since I last visited.
For payment I provided first my phone number & then my email address as I had always done before. They said " no gift certificate" attached to either. I remembered distinctively I had purchased a couple GCs, and everyone says I have a great memory - either way, hard to forget spending $200 for GCs. So I insisted there must be some mistake. The salesperson seemed very irritated with me, which surprised me, as I was just asking them to check further.
This went on for close to 5 minutes, and I was late & ready to give up, but luckily a person came in from the back informing me that it must be on their old system. I didn't know they had an old system and a new system, but I assumed the sales people should have been fully trained so people don't lose money thinking they're wrong about their GCs. Either way I thought it was a one time incident.
Earlier this week it happened again!! I believe it was the same salesperson, too. I understand that it was late in the day during a relatively busy time, but this time it was me who had to remind her I had purchased my GC over a year ago & it must be on their old system. I seriously believe a good business practice is to train (& retrain as needed) their people fully on matters concerning customer finances. I let it go last time, but sitting at my desk tonight, I felt I should inform the management so that they're aware of this AND drive it home with their staff and also inform the other customers in case they bought GCs over a year ago and have no idea there is an old system that actually shows there is money left over in the GC, close to...
