The first time we ate here I didn’t really understand the difference between a bowl and a salad. I ordered the Harvest bowl which had warm, brown basmati rice on the bottom with salad on top. It was a surprise to me and utterly delightful. I wouldn’t have thought of pairing warm rice with a salad, but it worked. The second time I had the Harvest salad which was lovely with chicken, pecans, cranberries, chick peas, spinach, carrot, cuke and greens with goddess dressing. It was fantastic. My husband had the Goddess salad with falafel, which with the chickpeas offered plenty of protein. We were both very happy with choices on both occasions. The salads are made fresh and the ingredients were very good. The salads are too large though. I fought to finish my way through it, and I noticed several other customers had left fairly good amounts of their salads in the bowls. It might be a good idea to serve a little less and reduce the price in line with the serving. In terms of staff, the first visit the lady was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The second time a different lady, who was later joined by another employee, was just barely nice. The place was not as clean either (tables and floor). The restroom had not been tended to, paper on the floor and no soap in the dispenser, so it seems there are staffing issues. I would probably return to give it another chance though as the...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was just too frustrating to ignore. I came to Chopped Leaf today expecting decent service and maybe a quick bite to eat — instead, I’ve been sitting here for over 30 minutes, and no one is here. Not a single staff member in sight. The lights are on, the music is playing, but the place is completely empty. I even called out a couple of times thinking maybe someone was in the back. Nothing.
There was no sign on the door saying they were closed or short-staffed, and their hours clearly say they should be open. There were other customers walking in, just as confused as I was, and they ended up leaving after waiting a few minutes. Honestly, I should’ve done the same, but I kept hoping someone would show up.
This is completely unacceptable. If a business is open, someone should be working. If you’re short-staffed or dealing with an issue, put up a sign or lock the door. Don’t leave customers standing around wasting their time. It’s disrespectful and unprofessional.
I won’t be coming back. Between the poor communication and the total lack of customer service, I’ve had enough. Hopefully, management sees this and does something about it, because right now, Chopped Leaf feels...
Read moreOrdered online for pickup. Arrived 20 minutes later, there were 10 people in the line waiting to place orders. One girl was working, looked about 16. There was no one preparing food, no one serving pickups, no one cleaning. I eventually got the girl's attention and asked her if she was working alone. She said yes, She has to take orders, prep food, service pickups, and close out the store all by herself. I asked where her manager was, she said they had gone to work at the downtown store.
The food is ok. I had ordered soup to go with my sandwich, she said they were all out but didn't know how to refund my money since I had paid in advance online. Probably something a manager would know about.
As far as I'm aware, you cannot leave a young person at work by themselves. It's a safety issue. She was obviously stressed about having to do all the work by herself but beyond that, if someone came in and started causing a problem, there was no one there to help. I'm mad on behalf of this girl and I don't even know her, if I was her parent I...
