This Tim Hortons is in a very convenient location, around the corner from my home and on my way to work and as such I visited it many times over the last two years because nights and shift work make caffeine essential.
That being said almost every time I visited this Tim Hortons something went wrong. I would order a caramel cold brew and get a caramel ice cap, I’d order black coffee and get a double double etc. There is definitely a lot of communication errors, and they don’t care to get things correct, I was hoping with time and new staff things would get better but it seems whoever manages this place, chronically does not care at all about anything.
My latest experience was the one that convinced me to write a review. I was filling up with gas and went inside to quickly use some of my accumulated Tim’s points. I waited being the only person standing at the counter for 5 minutes without being acknowledged despite what appeared to be a manager going back and forth behind the counter along with 1 or 2 workers. When the girl finally came to me I let her know I wanted to use my 800 Tim’s points for a cold brew. She asked me which flavour I wanted and gave me my options. I didn’t know you got flavour options so I asked for the caramel toffee cold brew. I then went to scan my app and she then decided to say you can’t have that one with the rewards and that now I apparently can’t rescan my rewards for the proper drink for another 30 minutes. I was dumbfounded, that she led me to do the incorrect thing and then claims there is a 30 minute time out for points that were never even used.
I said okay and left and went to go get my car wash done. It wasn’t until I was in my car and realized I could order said drink through my app that she was just making things up.
I honestly don’t know why Tim Hortons allows this place to keep their franchise or use their name. This place consistently fails at customer service, messes up orders, and is OBSESSED with the drive thru timer to the detriment of everything else. Lets see - its the most convenient on my way to work so I use it for coffee in the am- how you can mess up an XL with 3 cream is beyond me but 8/10 times it's not right. I have to add more coffee when I get to work or there is sugar in it. The same coffee at Willowbrook Tim's is perfect.
a few weeks ago- no cups- except small- the sign is posted when you are halfway into the line ready to order-not at the front so you can avoid it. yesterday- ordered a Crispy Chicken Club with Wedge Fries at 130 in the afternoon. Response- out of Wedge Fries and Crispy Chicken- would you like grilled chicken- sure- Please do that and give me mayo and ketchup on the side. what do I get- sliced grilled chicken slapped together on a bun with a piece of lettuce and 4 tablespoons of mayo in the sandwich and 2 things of ketchup on the side. Go back to complain and am told oh- you asked for mayo in the sandwich and ketchup on the side. Literally - this is biggest issue, including cleanliness with most Tim Horton locations. Essentially - thousands times I have told all the locations Managers, including head office in Oakville, Ontario. Unfortunately - they never care coz they have no motivations and sense of purpose , why they are their. Literally - service is far beyond poor and should be maintained minimal standards.
Need a significant improvement and focus and a new management team should take - over at the head - office just to monitor carefully and diligently, to re-structure Tim Horton across Canada, with stringent policy & standards, so there is no faint.
