My wife and I tried to come here when we first moved to Langley but couldn't because on the weekend we attempted to visit, the parking was full due to some unrelated nearby hockey event. Over a year later on a PTO Friday we finally had a chance to visit again.
The atmosphere is a combination of modern and classic diner. Good news was the booth accommodated my rotund self amply.
Swift drink service got us our coffee pretty quick served in a decent sized cute mug.
I ordered the cowboy as I was quite hungry and wanted to try a mix of things.
For some reason the menu had no single pancake side option, but the waitress had no trouble accepting my off-menu side order.
Food was warm and filling. Eggs ordered over medium felt like over easy. IE very runny with only a very thin cook on top.
The food was hearty, filling, fried-food so a little greasy, but within expectation. The potato hash was a grated hash brown that was a bit dark on the outside but soft on the inside, yummier than it looked.
Nothing on the plate to wow me, and the presentation was nothing special.
Watch out for the salt shaker as the salt FLOWS OUT FREELY and I managed to dump more salt than I tended on the eggs.
All in all the experience was a bit more blah than I hoped for. Next time the wife and I are going to spend $50+ on a breakfast I'll probably pick somewhere I like more, if I'm just...
Read more★☆☆☆☆ The “King Burger” — More Like the Court Jester I ordered the King Burger, expecting something bold and flavorful based on all the rave reviews calling this place the “best burger around.” What I got instead was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. The burger patty tasted frozen and lifeless, completely lacking in seasoning or freshness. It was dry, bland, and honestly something you could make better at home with a $10 grocery store pack of patties. The toppings couldn’t save it — even the mushrooms and cheese tasted like afterthoughts. The fries were hot and crisp, but 100% unseasoned not even a pinch of salt. For a restaurant that boasts about quality, it felt lazy and careless. To make matters worse, my wife’s poached eggs came out hard-boiled when she asked for runny. They had to remake them, but that kind of mistake shouldn’t happen in the first place. Overall, this place is severely overhyped. The “King Burger” wears no crown it’s bland, basic, and absolutely not worth the money. Save yourself the disappointment and find a spot that actually knows how to...
Read moreSadly uncomfortable feeling even though the initial waitress was lovely, she was new. She took my order of my eggs “made into omlette” and went back to kitchen. One of the owners who spent more time attending two Korean customers and DIDNT check their vaccine cards, finally came over and told me that my order of omelette will be substituted for scambled eggs. It’s not what I ordered and she made such a fuss that I felt totally uncomfortable. I asked her to cancel the eggs and she made things even more awkward. I couldn’t wait to finish my food and get out of there. Sadly I won’t ever return to bias treatment of other customers and worse a cafe that takes an order only to make customers feel awkward. I offered to pay extra for the milk they would need to “add” to my eggs but honestly left a bitter taste in my mouth that I wouldn’t want to return. After all that “fuss” the eggs I got certainly...
