Came in for the first time for mother's Day brunch. Couldn't make a reservation but all in all it wasn't a huge wait which was nice, especially with a toddler and no area to really safety let her run around.
We got seated after about 15 minutes and got coffee right away. Our waitress came to take our order - She was super friendly and food came pretty fast especially with how busy they were.
Unfortunately she dropped the plates and left and that was the last time we saw her. My toddler wasn't given a fork, my husband wanted OJ and I wanted water. It took a while to wave someone down. But she only brought my husbands OJ - not a fork or my water that we asked for. So my daughter had to eat with her hands and I just drank my coffee.
Eventually someone came back but for coffee fill up but we were pretty much done at this point. I get it's busy but still.
I got the fried chicken Benny on a waffle. I was so excited but left disappointed - the Chicken and Hollandaise sauce were tasteless and my eggs had a strong vinager taste. I could barely eat half of it. Took it home in hopes I can doctor it up later.
Again we had to wave someone down for our bill as our toddler was getting restless and wanted to leave before she started to get to upset.
That being said my husband enjoyed his omelette and my daughter ate off our plates plus got a fruit bowl and an egg which made her extremely happy.
There is also NO change table or even a large counter space in the bathroom so I had to change my daughter on the dirty bathroom floor which was not only awkward but extremely unhygienic.
I will say the eating area was nice and clean for the most part. As always we cleaned up the floor after our toddler ate but when I was down there I found food that wasn't ours under the table.
I want to say I'd be willing to try again but with no change table I don't think I'd return...
Read moreI would like to review Road Runner Restaurant in downtown Langley. It had an old-diner vibe with updated furniture. We ordered clam chowder, half sized pancake, Denver omelette (comes with roasted potatoes, choice of toast), House beef burger with fries, Road runner burger with fries.
Food Clam chowder was lighter than we are used to, which we preferred. Plenty of veges but hard to find any clams/seafood. It was a bit heavy on the dill and had strong acidity. We probably wouldn't order again.
Pancake (with strawberries and whipped cream) The pancake came with plenty of whipped cream and the strawberries were very sweet. The dough of the pancake was fluffy, and the maple butter that it came with made the taste much more flavourful. Whipped cream and strawberries were a $5 extra charge.
Denver omelette had good mix of ingredients although it was light on eggs. Rather than having the ingredients mixed with the egg, it was stir fried and covered with a blanket of eggs. Roasted potatoes were cooked well and toast was nice and buttered lightly. House beef buger with fries was very delicious. Patty and fries were made in house. Patty taste like juicy Korean bbq, well-balanced with lettuce, tomato. Unfortunately I don't see much of a difference with the Road runner burger for a $2-3 difference.
Service Servers were very kind, hard working and very attentive. They consitently look for what customers need. They refilled my coffee 3 times without asking.
Overall I would visit this restaurant when I am nearby. This is...
Read moreJust got back from my second visit and had Egg Benedict, I informed the server that last time the 3 eggs benny were short 1 English muffin, I said as a cook and a business owner when your menu SHOWS 3 poached eggs a customer EXPECTS 3 ENGLISH MUFFIN HALVES, she argued the other places charge more, o we only put 2, I don't really care what other places charge, as a LICENSED COOK AM TELLING YOU ITS MISLEADING CUSTOMERS, she informed me that it would cost $2 for that half English muffin that SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, I didn't leave a tip like I had my first time, they lost a customer over $2, and there's nowhere it's stated that there's an upcharge, its advertized as 3 poached eggs with engliah myffin, they don't even sell English muffins separately on the menu.
The staff are nervous at the flows of customers and it shows but theyre nice , coffee for 2 is only $3.
I won't he back there again over this misleading menu and misleading is just that, it's not the $2 it's the PRINCIPLE.
They probably won't miss me as a customer and I won't miss them either, CHANGE YOUR MENU TO REFLECT THE UPCHARGE FOR YOUR 3 EGGS BENEDICT OR DO THE RIGHT THING AND ADD THE ENGLISH MUFFIN LIKE YOU SHOULD, Eggs Benedict only use 1/2 A muffin anyways so this is already a savings for any restaurant 2 for 1, $2 extra for half an English...
