If You’re Planning a Party Here, Read This First”
I had visited this place before for a playdate and had a good experience, so I decided to book my daughter’s birthday party here. The space itself is nice — there’s a big area for kids, a smaller section for toddlers, and the bathrooms were clean and modern.
But if you’re thinking of booking a party here, there are several things you should really be aware of — and some things the business seriously needs to improve.
Check-in/Check-out Process: Their system is slow and outdated. They use a highlighter pen to write random letters on each person’s wrist when they arrive, then check the mark under a UV light when people leave. On a busy day, this creates a huge backup at the front, with long lines of people trying to get in and out. Some kids in my party didn’t even get their wrist marked properly, so the staff didn’t know who their parents were at pickup — I had to step in and confirm identities. It’s stressful, disorganized, and needs to be replaced with something more efficient.
No Help During the Party: If you book a party, you’re basically on your own. I had over 20 kids, and they only gave me two small tables that barely seated 10. I asked for an extra table — no one brought it, so I ended up grabbing one myself from another room. There’s no assigned staff to help or check in on you. Anything you need (a lighter, garbage bags, etc.), you have to go downstairs and ask for it yourself — which takes up even more of your short 2-hour time slot.
No Party Announcements (This Was a Big Issue): One of the most frustrating things was that they have no microphone or PA system to make announcements. You know how most places say things like, “Hey kids, come back to Mariana’s party table for cake!”? That doesn’t exist here. I had to physically search the whole (very large) play area to find all the kids in our group when it was time for food and cake. I even brought colored necklaces to identify the kids, and it still didn’t help much. When I asked staff if they could make an announcement, they said, “Oh, we don’t do that.” With only two hours for the entire party, I easily lost 20–30 minutes just trying to round everyone up. It was a mess. This is something they really need to fix — it’s a basic necessity for running organized parties.
Time Pressure and Rushed Cleanup: Parties are booked back-to-back, so you have to be completely out by your end time — not just cleaning up, but out of the party room. At 4:15 sharp, I was still trying to clean up and get kids out, but the next group was already arriving. It felt rushed and chaotic, and staff didn’t offer any help.
Final Thoughts: The place itself has potential. It’s clean, the space is fun, and the kids had a good time. But the lack of organization, no announcements, no support, and outdated check-in system made the experience way more stressful than it needed to be. If you’re booking here, come prepared with your own helpers and make sure to confirm every detail ahead of time.
I’m not writing this to bash the place — just sharing my honest experience so other parents know what to expect, and hopefully so the team can make improvements. A few small changes could make a...
Read moreCame here today for the first time and my daughter (19 months) had a amazing time! The young child area, I believe, is better then the original Play Abby location as there is more things to do for crawling children while still having areas for those who need more challenge but aren't ready for the big area. Everything was very clean, and when speaking to others who have been here before found this was to be expected which I love. I don't think I ever looked around and didn't see staff cleaning something. For the entry fee this place is well worth it. However there are two criticism I have to put out that takes this place from a 5 stars to 4. The first is that all the unused outlets were uncovered. I 100% agree that children should be supervised here at all times however it only takes a second for tragedy to strike and a pack of outlet covers aren't unreasonably expensive. Open outlets should definitely be covered ASAP. The second is one myself and other parents found very off putting. The music playing was not appropriate for children. I don't think any child playing here should here the words "Superman that hoe". Someone said they asked the staff if the music could be changed and were told "This is the playlist we play" which I am curious if management knows about. I'm not saying they should play only kids bop and baby shark (good gods please don't). However the music should be void of explicit words and adult subject matter if you're playing it in a childrens indoor playground. If management wants one curated for them feel free to let me know, id be happy to make them one thats child appropriate that won't make the adults want to do their own head in. Overall this place is wonderful and if those two things are tended too ill gladly update my review to 5...
Read moreWent to try out the new Play Abby Langley after school yesterday. I was very impressed with the space, ambiance and vibes. I love play Abby Abbotsford and play Abby Langley definitely has some similarities but so fun differences too. The structure was easy for me, even as an older, larger person to navigate with my kiddos. It was not hard on my feet, back or knees as I got to stand up through most of the play area. They have a little sports court that allowed for some fun play and was a favorite for my kids. The slides were smooth. The bathrooms were very clean and the accessible bathroom was especially impressive. So I know that Grandma will be in good shape if she met us there. My absolute favorite thing about play! Abby Langley and Abbotsford is that you can bring in your own food and drinks. This meant that we from end of school until closing + we were able to eat snacks + partial dinner there while they played. They have separate play spaces for older kids and for toddlers. Overall, this will be our go-to spot for meeting with friends and family for playdates in this area. They have loyalty cards with discounted admissions which makes going even more affordable. Looking forward...
