Went for my dad's birthday (party of 13), service was slow and had to ask multiple times for us to actually get what we asked for.. anyway at the end, we paid in groups, my husband and I paid first, we paid by card and were gonna tip by cash so we didn't put the tip in for the card as we were paying it cash after, the server took the receipt and immediately stormed off rolling her eyes and went to a coworker complaining. We had asked for containers for our left over food and were going to leave the tip as we were leaving.. waited 10 minutes for our containers and we're given them shoved in our face with eye rolls and an extremely dirty look.. with the attitude we recieved we ended up not tiping and left.. afterwards, everyone else paid and she automatically added 18% tip to everyone's bills without telling them (5 seperare bills) so they tipped what they were planning to tip PLUS were charged an additional 18% tip.. the server NEVER said the tip was already added, my grandparents (quite elderly) also got charged the 18% and they added their own tip as they were not aware there was one already added.. completely ripped everyone off. Once my group saw the receipt they all asked why she didn't tell anyone she already added a 18% tip the servers response was "well the other 2 didn't tip me so figured I had to do it myself for everyone else" quite the dang attitude for wanting tips.. tips are OPTIONAL may I add.. it's ridiculous what staff can get away with nowadays and how they can treat customers. Once again.. we were going to tip cash when leaving but after the attitude yes we are not going to tip someone extra for being extremely rude and disrespectful.. and then to also rip everyone else off. Insane. I've tried giving this place multiple tries since it's a fun place to go but after this.. yea no way and I'll for sure be letting people know that their servers treat people poorly and try to rip them off for more tips even with a giant attitude. Read moreUPDATE: My last review is from two plus years ago, and I have to say the service quality has gone down hill. Some of the servers (not all) are snotty and don’t seem interested in the meaning of customer service. Their knowledge in house is non existent. There are no more long time employees. The turnover is so much that you aren’t recognized as a regular patron anymore. The prices have gone up like everywhere else, but it’s become quite expensive. Im not willing to pay these prices that come with lousy service. I’m disappointed in the decline of this location. I’ve had low quality experiences every time I’ve gone in the last 5-6 times (probably more). The food quality is not the great quality it once was anymore either. This Canadian Brewhouse WAS my favourite watering hole…. For over 9 years…. And I’ll sure be finding a new place…. And that does break my heart.
OLD REVIEW: ALWAYS.... always have a good time here.... and my favourite part is if there is any sort of problem they are prompt to fix it or make up for it. Example.... they had the 40oz steak night and it was a s#i+ show!! Double booked with a fundraiser. We waited for like 2-3 hours for a seat.... insane!!! I posted about this and they seen it. Not only did they give us our money back but they paid for our drinks!! They really cared that they eff’d up! That is only one example. They did so another time too with a skip the dishes order that came dreadfully wrong. For me... a business is human too. They make mistakes, but it’s how they fix it that counts. Read moreI had the worst experience ever dining here with my family tonight. We waited 45 mins for our appetizers. When they came out they were all cold. 45 seconds later the mains showed up, and 2 out of those 4 were also cold. I asked what happened and how come the service/food quality was so bad, I was told they are having their staff meeting tonight and that all the servers are from different locations. They didn’t charge us the two appetizers as compensation. But we still ended up paying $159.67 for the rest of our meal. Unreal. I’ve been here before and have had enjoyable dining experiences. They lost a customer tonight. Here’s some feed back, have your staff meeting off hours or not at 6:30pm… just a suggestion. Was also told that Skip The Dishes had lots of orders come through, and that they are the priority. Here’s an idea… tend to the people who show up in person and are sitting in your restaurant. A family of 4, ordering drinks… instead go to the skip person ordering a single meal with no drinks. Bold buisness strategy cotton, let’s see if it pays off for them! I tipped $2, which I have never done in my life. Terrible, terrible service, food quality, etc. the drinks were good I will say that…. But we waited a while before we got those drinks to arrive too.
